NAN 2000
Here are some of my personal shots
from my experience at the North American Nationals
in Pomona, CA, held June 22-23, 2000.

The Winners!

"Up In Smoke" is the 2000 National Champion
OF Peter Stone Quarter Horse/Appaloosa

"Starbucks" is the
2000 Reserve National Champion
Custom Paint

"Silver Bells", Top Ten CM Sporthorse

"Mach-A-Reina", Top Eight AR Appaloosa

"A La Mode", Top Ten OF Other Light
She was placed 2nd by two of the three judges, and just missed getting
Reserve National Champion.

"Costly Call", Top Ten OF Stock Breed Foals

My very rowdy tablemates and friends. . .
That's me in orange, and yes, there is a reason this scan is out of focus!

The Auction

That fuzzy blob is the high seller of the auction,
the D'arry Jone Frank resculpted
Haflinger pony that went for... $4,750!!
The eye-catching horse on his left is a custom Breyer (or two put together, I believe)
by Judy Renee Pope.

The beautiful Sarah pair: a palomino Fandango resculpted by Sarah Minkiewicz,
and the head of the stunning Nahar resculpted by Sarah Rose.

This is the Chaney Andalusian, of whom many of us were treated to a "first-peek" at NAN!
