More Close-ups of Maxine's Crazy Quilt Wallhanging

The design for the floral group is from
Judith Baker Montano's book, Elegant Stitches.  The lace edging on this block is tacked down on one edge with a feather stitch.  I used bugle beads along the other edge.

For the flower group on this block, I used  variegated Brazilian threads - Frost for the bullion roses and Glory for the leaves.  The flowers are a Brazilian embroidery technique called Rolled Rose.  I used the fishbone stitch for the leaves in this group, too.

This is one of my favorite blocks because I love the butterfly fabric.  This wisteria above the butterfly is done with bullions tacked down with a straight stitch.
