About MeThanks for stopping by to find out more about me! My name is Karissa and I am 22 years old. (If you can't tell by my website, my favorite color is purple! *grin*) I was born in Red Wing, MN and lived there my entire young life. I graduated from Red Wing High School in June of 1998, then went on to college in Kenosha, WI.
I attended Carthage College for 2 years and then it was time to move on. I looked in to transfering to the University of North Texas to major in Communication Design with a minor in Business, but was unable to go back to school due to out-of-state tuition and no financial aid. Why I move to Texas you ask? Because I HATE cold weather. So why did I live in MN/WI for the majority of my life? I have NO IDEA! *grin* As the saying goes "I wasn't born in Texas, but I got here as fast as I could!" For two years, I worked full-time as a web developer in Denton. I soon realized that it was not what I wanted to do with my life...I want to teach Kindergarten! So, I packed up my stuff and moved again. This time I moved to College Station, TX, home of Texas A&M University. I'm currently attending Blinn College and finishing up some basic requirements (Blinn is a lot cheaper than A&M!) and I hope to transfer to A&M sometime within the next year or so. I work at a preschool in Bryan, TX and I teach the late 3-year-old class. My job is such a blessing! It is hard work sometimes, but overall, it has been one of the best decisions that I've made. I spend a lot of my free time with my boyfriend, Wes. We "met" on November 3, 1997 (he lived in Austin, TX and I in MN) and he was part of the reason I decided to move to Texas. Now we've known each other for almost 6 years and I am so happy. I still don't know what the future holds, but I'm sure I'll find out soon! When I'm now with my boyfriend, I enjoy hanging out with my friends, rollerblading, hiking, biking, writing, webpage design, reading, and much more - guess you can say I'm a well-rounded person. I don't play any sports though I enjoy watching hockey and football. (I have to be a Dallas Cowboys fan now because I live in TX, but my heart will always be with the Minnesota Vikings. *grin*) I love the outdoors and hate being cooped up inside. I studied dance for 14 years and piano for 9 years. (I no longer take lessons for either.) I have just recently gotten into collecting Precious Moments. I only collect the Angels and other "special" figurines, such as the membership exclusive, and other Inspirational ones. If you want to see my collection, you can visit my Precious Moments Page.
I have a mom (Vickie) and a dad (Brad), a little sister and a wiener dog. Her name is Muffin (my dog, not my sister, my sister's name is Courtney). Check out my Family Page to see more pictures!
