Florence taught at the old Waterford No. 5 Schoolhouse at the now abandoned village of Riggs in Waterford Township, Clinton County in 1915. She taught in the Villa Nova country school in 1916-1917 when she left to marry James Fullan.

Florence and James Fullan lived first in Delmar for a few months and then moved to McLaughlin, SD in the spring of 1917. After his death Florence and the children moved back to Iowa (James had asked her to do this before he died).

Florence lived in Chicago in 1944, according her sister Mary's obituary. She moved to California and was a resident of San Francisco. In San Francisco she was a house mother at a nurse's school.
