Oliver Cosby served in the Union army in the Civil War. He enlisted on 29 Aug 1861 in Company H, 8th Cavalry Regiment, Indiana. He was promoted for Full Corporal. He mustered out of the same company on 20 Jul 1865 at Indianapolis.
