Named Mary E. in most censuses, except she's named Ella, 31, in 1910 Fed. census, is named ``Ella'' by Mel Foley's family records, and was named Ella on her funeral card. Her tombstone says ``M. Ellen, b. 1878--1953.'' Ella spent most of her life on the family farm two and one-half miles north of Westside. She lived in the Spieker Nursing home in Carroll for her last six months.
