George and Ethel farmed two miles north and one-half mile west of Westside. They retired and moved into Westside in 1953. In 1920, George owned 80 acres in Section 2 of Westside Twp. and was renting another 80 acres there.

George's wife, Ethel, was a sister of Leo Downey who married George's sister Lillian. The parents of Ethel and Leo were Edward and Mary C. Downey.

Ethel's death date recorded in St. Ann's church or diocese death records is Oct. 1, but her obituary says she died the morning of Oct. 2
