You're Still An Inspiration
Tune: "You're The Inspiration"
Performed by: Chicago

Verse #1: "I know your show was meant to be,
The kind of show to last forever!
Although you're not with ABC,
Maybe soon you could work for Lifetime!
You have been my favorite comedian,
I've taped many episodes and, I watch them again and again,
Dear Ellen!"

Chorus #1: "You're my favorite comedian and,
You're still an inspiration!
You'll keep me laughing until the end,
You're still an inspiration!
I would really like to meet you and,
Hopefully this dream will come true!
So please work for Lifetime,
Because they'll need you!"

Verse #2: "And I know (and I know),
Yes I know about ABC :(
I'm sorry that you couldn't work together :(
But I've known (Yes, I've known),
That you'll remain on TV :)
This is why you should work for Lifetime!
I know you've been doing well and I can tell,
Please don't work too hard, just relax and be yourself!"

(Chorus #1)

(Musical Interlude)

Chorus #2: "I'm glad that you and Anne are happy and,
Have good luck with your future!
You'll continue to inspire me,
With your extremely dry sense of humor!
You're my favorite comedian and,
My inspiration!
You'll keep me laughing until the end,
Because you're my inspiration!"

Verse #3: "I've been supporting somebody,
With a caring mind!
Please renew your series and,
Work for Lifetime!
They would need you because,
You're so kind!
Therefore, when you resort to friendship,
You'll be just fine!"
(Repeat w/ echoes)

KATHARINE PECK

A shadow washes over me
as I sit here on my bed
a clouding of uncertain thoughts
rushing through my head
I don't know why I feel this way
or why I shed these tears
but I can't control my thoughts
I can't control my fears

I'm different from the others here
who watch with mocking eyes
I try to hide the real me
while something withing me dies

They do not understand, you see
They think my thoughts are wrong
They do not love the way I do
They fear the things for which I long
I can not stand their mockery
and I fear their mighty wrath
I'm afraid of being different
afraid following my chosen path

But I saw someone last night
who felt a lot like me
She felt alone, afraid, confused
She saw the thing she was taught not to see
But there's a difference between the two of us
She said the things I could not say
She said the two words I feared so much
She said those two life changing words "I'm gay"

I'm thinking of that women now
as I sit here on my bed
she'd shed her tears and faced her fears
you're not alone she said
Thank you Ellen
