Here is a few of the many letters that I receive regarding our favorite actress Ellen. Please email me if you would like yours added.
As you may well know or not know, Ellen Degeneres has recently stated she is a lesbian...This comes as a precursor to her character on the ABC sitcom Ellen also realizing she is lesbian...It seems there has been a lot of opposition to this decision in allowing a major t.v. character to "come out" as it were.
For those of you writing Linda with various negative letters regarding this issue, let me say that it is YOUR CHOICE to allow or disallow your children to watch any t.v. show which you feel is not in their best interest. For those of you who are under the assumption that homosexuality is an illness or perversity, let me remind you that you are in no position morally, personally, spiritually, or professionally to judge someone else's life whether it be a choice or not a choice. I say life here instead of lifestyle because no one else seems to use that term for anyone who is heterosexual.
As always, I and others like me, will support Ms. Degeneres in her decision and hope to deter any of the negativity she may be receiving at this juncture. For those of you who are supporting Ellen, we thank you and hope you will continue to do this in the months to come.
Page is great, keep up the good work.

Aside from being a great comedian, I think Ellen is very courageous. I am the mother of a lesbian daughter and have many friends in the gay community. I am particularly concerned about the lack of role models for our gay and lesbian youth. I thank Ellen for taking such a big step in filling that void. Tell her to keep up the good work!!
Wow! I could wander in your page all day long!! I've
got your page in my bookmarks and enjoy checking in
periodically esspecially lately!!
I'm hosting an "Ellen" party at my home in Tacoma, WA
for an evening of Oprah interview, Ellen re-runs,
"the puppy episode!", and, for those late nighters, the
Indigo Girls on Letterman!!
Keep up the great job with your site I'll be back!
I think you're page is great. I think Ellen is great
am very glad that she has decided to come out and be
herself. Welcome, Ellen. Ellen is someone whom I and
alot of her sisters can identify with. A real person.
It's about time. None of us are in the closet any more.
Even those of us who have been "out", are now truly "out",
thanks to Ellen. She is not alone. We are all with her
I love the page, lots of interesting updates and all
around info!!
I can't wait for the show on the 30th and the other
interviews!!
I love Ellen, shes doing the right thing by coming out
We need to see more lesbians and gays out in the media,
It allows for "us" to become more real.
I think your page is the best "Ellen" homepage out there. I really love Ellen, too. (Despite that godawful "Mr. Wrong") Loved her even before I heard 'the news'. I'm seventeen years old, and she's been a wonderful role model for me. I've started coming out to more of my friends lately, and Ellen is still my favorite TV show.
Ellen -- been following her even before I thought she might be gay. I don't follow someone just because of something but for the talent. Talented she is and has been. It is a shame to me that people are just picking up on the bandwagon because of her coming out. But on the other hand it is also nice to see that people have someone to reconize with now. Flip sided coin huh?
I _love_ your Ellen page and I think it's especially great
that you've made a special coming out page!
I have suspected for a long time that Ellen was in fact
a lesbian, which is great!, and her coming out is very good
because there is a need for more fun "famous" lesbians out
there! Ellen is the funniest woman ever, as far as I
am concerned :)
The only bad thing is that TV3 here in Sweden airs the
show at 1pm on Saturdays, not exactly a viewing friendly
time.
I liked your page alot. It was easy to get around, used lots
of multimedia and loaded fast. I like how you put your
feelings right out front there...
If only the people who are in a position of influence
could be so honest about Ellen's coming out.
Frankly, I find it interesting in the sense that it is
kewl to see how people react to it. I hope she doesn't
get manipulated too much, and I'd hate to see her off
the air, I do find her appealing (more so than the show).
Lesbian or not, I think she is funny...no matter who
she chooses as a sexual partner. It doesn't matter to
me. I guess I am not close enough to anyone to know
how their orientation might have impact on me.
I've talked to straight, bi and gay people and found them
all to be people, first, and different than I, second...
we learned to share and see each other in appreciation
of our common ground, and differences.
I think you page is a very nicely organized page and I also think its a page on a very kind hearted person and any one could see that if they were not so shallow minded and so full of hate towards others. I always knew "ELLEN" was a very kind and thoughtful person by her eyes and here honest personality.
Just read your page and it's great! It's nice to find people who are as nuts
about Ellen as I am. I also plan to "come out with Ellen"...she's given me a
lot of courage!
BRAVO!!!! Love your page (both me and my lover really enjoyed it, and plan on telling lots of other people about it too). Of course, we think Ellen is fabulous, and can't wait for her coming out episode. It's about time! Keep up the good work.
First of all - I think your page is GREAT! It is always updated (which I REALLY LIKE!) and full of fun and interesting Ellen stuff - keep up the good work on the photos. More please!!!
I think Ellen Degeneres is fantastic, wonderful and a BEAUTIFUL human being! I say "Hooray!" for Ellen Morgan "coming-out" and "Congratulations!" to Ellen Degeneres for becoming the first
openly gay lead character on television. It's about time! The world needs to wake up and look at reality!!!
I like your page alot. I came here to try to get the "scoop" about whether or not Ellen herself had really come out. This was the first place I found with the information. About Ellen - I have absolute respect for her and her work. I've liked her for a while. (since she won that Funniest Person contest) I liked her well before I knew for a fact that she was a lesbian. The lesbian part is just icing on the cake. I'm estatic that we will finally have a main character on TV that we can truly relate to. It's about time, don't you think?
I think that it is a fanfreakin'tastic page, its very cool, you have very nice graphics.
I guesss I would have to say that Ellen has been one my fav comedians for the last 5 years and I adore her work. I ramble just as much as she does, people laugh but I still don't get paid for it.
I'm thrilled that she is doing the coming out episode because the whole point is for her to be comfy and happy and funny in her own way and to be true to herself is very important plus and major plus MLE my fav artist excellent combination.
It couldn't possibly get any better after Kd's in as well. Anyway just wanted to say hey bud from sunny B'dos in the WI and thanks for taking the time to do such a well laid out site.
Your page is, as usual, fabulous. I'm sooooooo incredibly happy about the real-life Ellen coming out...it gives me another positive role model, and there aren't many positive, out lesbian role models that I can think of. And hey, I look up to Ellen anyway. I've been using your page to keep up with the Ellen/"Ellen" coming out stuff it's been a helpful resource. I'm going to go do a little dance now. (I *just* found out from my mom that Ellen came out)
