Episode 1 "The Dentist"
Ellen feels "downright tingly" when she visits Paige's cute dentist, while Adam wants to give up his girlfriend when he realises he is more attractive to other females. Hilarious start to series 2.
Ellen decides she should work for charity after she wins a big screen T.V. at a Charity draw that she gatecrashed.
Ellen goes on a date with an admirer from the bookstore, but decides he has no ambition in his life when she finds out he delivers pizzas, and has done so for many, many years.(Guest star William Ragsdale from Herman's Head)
Ellen tries anything she can possibly think of to find out which person in her book club finds her "Insufferable" including testing a double bed in a department store. Also we find out the terrible news that Ellen "can't Magic Eye".
When Ellen's mum Lois tries to fix her up with her friend's son, Ellen is not impressed but after meeting him decides she likes him. Can she keep him though? Another great episode with everything that can go wrong - going wrong.
Ellen becomes very jealous when Adam thinks his friend is hilarious and laughs at her more than he does her. (Guest - Kathy Najimy-Sister Act.)
When Ellen's brother Stephen decides to get married, Ellen takes on the responsibility of organising the wedding to prove to her parents that she can do things properly. But as usual her mouth gets her into heaps of trouble.
Adam feels that life is passing him by and finds the only thing he can do to help him change direction is move out of Ellen's appartment and find his own. He does - at the Twilight Elderly Home.
To help Paige out, Ellen pretends to be her boss Ted's personal trainer. He is so impressed with her that he offers her a job, much to Paige's frustration.
Ellen is devestated when she finds out that the grumpy old woman from downstairs, died a couple of minutes after she yelled at her.
Being very much in awe of Audrey's influential friend Jessica, Ellen tries anything she can think of so she will be invited to her big industry party and become her new friend - including lying to Audrey. She even spots Quentin Tarrantutti :)
Ellen hires Stephanie to work in her bookstore to whom Joe takes an instant dislike. At the same time Elly is dating a sickly-sweet guy name Greg, who is becoming quite painful in the way he hangs around her all the time. Joe and Steph end up getting it together, and have a few bumpy moments during the show and of course, our loveable Ellen can't find a way to break it off with BORING Greg.
Deciding that Adam, Paige and herself are ignorant and in need of some fresh stimuli, Ellen takes them to the Art Gallery. It's there she meets Roger and pretends she is more knowledgable than she really is.
Don't come and live in my neighborhood or you'll be attacked by a gang calling themselves "Gaps" - or that's what Ellen told Audrey to prevent her from moving close by. A great show with lots of great lines and guess what...it's this episode that we find out Ellen's two goldfish's names are Lyle and Eric. What a scream! Great episode.
This is my favorite episode. Ellen and Paige go to a Health Farm for a weekend of relaxing and being pampered. What they don't realise is that it is also a place to lose weight and after only a few hours both are ravenous. The scenes that follow still have me in stitches everytime I watch it as Paige and Ellen try anything to get some food. Everything from Jim Carey, impersonating an English model, eating Paige's cucumber eye soothers, TicTacs, and being stuck on a wrought iron gate makes this a classic show. It is also the ep. where ellen injures her ribs when she slips going over the gate. A+ .....somebody stop me!
Another episode where Ellen injures herself when she take a chunk out of her leg. When she finds out her parents took her out of ballet school when she was a child because she was not graceful enough..Ellen decides she should start up ballet again to show her parents they were wrong. Peter from the charity place is her teacher......"not graceful huh?"
When Ellen's appartment is broken into when she and Adam are in the bathroom, Ellen becomes paranoid and gets Ryan, a policeman to come and give them a few tips on self defence. He is very loud and abnoxious which lends itself to a few funny scenes with the gang - especially Ellen......"Look there's Heather Locklear!"
Ellen is quite concerned when she keeps having dreams about Adam and herself having sex. She's not quite sure what it means, so she trots off to a therapist who tells her to confront the issue. In the meantime Adam sleeps with Audrey, tells Ellen, then asks her to pretend to be an item with him so that Audrey will go away. Phew! Lot's of smooching in the episode. "Melt me snowflake."
Going as moral support for Adam to a Gladiators audition, Ellen is talked into competing as well. Adam misses out and Ellen makes it. She meets Nitro ..calls herself Madam Destructo and arranges a date. It doesn't work out and Nitro hurts Ellen by calling it a day. She is really down but when she finds out she is fighting Ice in "The Joust" she is determined to make her pay for stealing Nitro from her. Ellen was quite sore after filming this episode. "Cos I think this way will be so much more of a hoot!"
Welcome to Flying Burger may I take your order.........In this episode Ellen receives a $5,000 cheque from the Taxation Dept. but know that it doesn't belong to her. She visits the dept. only to be told to have fun with it as it must be hers. She donates the money to charity, thrilling Peter and earns the award of Platinum Angel. But when she finds out the money has to be paid back and tries to get retrieve it - Peter and the kids, in the room that her money paid for, makes her feel too guilty..and she lets them keep it.
When Ellen is arrested and put in jail for disturbing the peace during a protest about the killing of animals, her worst punishment is having to stay in the custody of her parents.
Watch for the scene at the end where she's in the car with mum and dad singing "Born to be Wild". It's a scream!.
Guest star - Christine Elise (Beverly Hills & ER)
Ellen discovers an exception to the old rule about honesty being the best policy when she lies to her
mother, cancelling their lunch date so she can go skiing with Paige.
As we come to expect from Ellen-things never go smoothly for her. A near death experience on the ski slopes
leaves Ellen guilt ridden about the lie so she visits a therapist who tells her to come clean with not only the ski trip lie
but all others between her and her mother.
It all gets out of hand of course, and Ellen decides that sometimes a few white lies may be her best policy when it comes to her parents.
Ellen paranoid? What - of course not!!....not our Ellen...well maybe just a little bit. Actually her paranoia reaches an all-time high when she fears her ex-boyfriend Dan (William Ragsdale from 'Herman's Head') has graduated from pizza deliveries to
drug smuggling.
Ellen is quietly surprised when she runs into Dan, an old boyfriend who has just returned from a 6 month stay in Italy. You may remember an earlier episode where Ellen broke up with Dan because he was a pizza delivery guy and had no other ambitions in life. She is rapt when he tells her that he is in the import/export
business now and decides to rekindle the relationship again.
Now you didn't expect everything to run smoothly for Ellen did you? Of course not! Things start to become very suspicious when 2 guys deliver a large packet of white powder to
Ellen's appartment. It is for Dan who is in Miami sorting out some customs problem.
And when the police arrive on her doorstep it is panic stations for Miss Paranoia.
Guest Star - William Ragsdale from Herman's Head.
Well, well, well, what's happening here? Is Ellen going to make her mum and dad the happiest parents in the world? Is it love?
While Ellen and Dan spend the whole weekend in bed,
Paige drops by to let her know she is far from impressed. Ellen agrees to dinner with Paige but Dan has other ideas and invites Audrey and Adam as well. At the restaurant Audrey and Adam decide privacy is the go for the two of them, so they depart, leaving poor Paige with love-struck Ellen and Dan.
With love getting in the way of all their friendships, will Ellen and her pals ever get back to the way they were - or are they......gulp........maturing???
Guest Star - William Ragsdale (Hermans Head)
