A highly cerebral and stylish movie with even more phantasms than in the cult classic "Phantasm", "Nightscare" (a.k.a. "Beyond Bedlam") is a relatively demanding film that requires close attention and some patience from the audience. When you have a character who can cause others to see nightmarish illusions, the potential for confusion is high. It starts off slow and, for the first 20 minutes or so, leaves you to wonder if it's really a horror film. Trust me, it is, and the surreal visuals, which appear mostly in the second half of the movie, are almost as superb as those in "Hellbound: Hellraiser II". Another strong point is the good performance from the cast, which stars Elizabeth Hurley. If your attention span isn't too short and you like movies that challenge your mind, then "Nightscare" should provide a bizarre yet worthwhile viewing experience. |

** NOTE: The more dots on the domino, the better the movie is. If it has the maximum of 12 dots, then the movie is a masterpiece. No dots means if you watch it, you will waste over an hour of your life. ** |
