Slug Throwers

Slugthrowers are largely overlooked in the Star Wars Universe as they are clouded by the vast numbers of blasters in use. In my personal opinion, there are slugthrowers in existence now, in our world, that can do more damage than what most SW: RPG stats say. Therefor all slugthrowers will be made with a bit more care taken into the area of realism when it comes to just how much damage they can do to a person.

Slugthrowers have both their advantages and disadvantages when compared with blasters. Slugthrowers can be silenced and do not give any visible trail to the firer; both are impossible to do with a blaster. Blasters tend to have better range and the capability to hold more ammunition, but also usually have a slow recycle rate. Many slugthrowers have both semi-automatic and full-automatic fire modes, which provides the user with more rapid-fire capabilities than a blaster ever could.

Hold-Out Slugthrowers

The pocket pistol is Mestic Munitions best selling firearm and can be found on many major worlds anywhere in the galaxy. It is small enough to be easily hidden in anyone's pocket and rivals most hold-out blasters.
It fires the same ammunition that many other Mestic models use, only it doesn't use an ammo clip. A single round is loaded into the barrel while in the open position, the barrel is then locked down and the weapon is ready to fire.
The pocket pistol is not readily able to be fitted with any standard silencer and usually attracts a lot of attention when fired due to the loud popping sound it creates.

The most sophisticated silencer available, the GHS-4 produces the mirror image of the sound produced by the weapon, rendering it silenced without detracting from the bullet's speed or accuracy at all. In form the silencer looks like a pair of very small speakers fitted to minute rectangular box. It fits directly below the muzzle of the gun, and is heat shielded, to protect it from the hazards of that position. The silencer can adapt to just about every conceivable sound, taking three or four exposures before it reaches it's optimum level of effectiveness, which reduces the sound of the blast to a faint, distant sounding version of itself.
