Virginia Snakes
Snakes, reptiles that fall under the suborder Serpentes are long, thin, lack developed appendages, and are usually oviparous.  They can be distinguished from lizards by the morphology of the retina and the mechanism for focusing the eys.  Smoke snakes, such as the coperhead below are poisonous.  Poison is secreated by modified salivary glands.
