A Stage of Turbulence

A Stage of Turbulence is a series about the difficulties of society's acceptance of women's acting troop during the 1920's. During this time only men were involved in this type of work. Fiona Leung plays the star of this acting troop and Vivian Chow is the servant girl for a corresponding men's troop. Soon the two girls befriend each other and Vivian comes to work for the women's troop. It is also discovered that Vivian can sing, so she is brought along as a singer. All the while Vivian and her father are secret spies trying to find secret documents from a military man. Because of these covert operations Vivian must become close with the military official leading her to become the lead in the troop and angering Fiona. Eventually, things break loose and Vivian's father is caught and killed. This incident leaves Vivian an amnesiac and a ruthless man who keeps girls as street performers takes her in.

During this time the man in charge of the troop goes out in search of Vivian while the other girls care nothing for her being missing. Fiona, who was once great friends with Vivian, is now almost like bitter enemies. When the man finds Vivian he brings her and two of her friends back with him. The troop is now much smaller because of the chaos and military strife. All the girls act mean towards Vivian, who does not remember anything of her past. She no longer knows of her spy involvement or of the misunderstanding between the girls. She only has two friends now, the girls from the street performing group.

One day during a parade Sunny's character crashes into Fiona. Sunny plays a rich young man who likes to fly in his man made airplane. It is nothing more than a bicycle with wings. But as he flies above the parade he loses control of his plane and crashes into Fiona. Fiona is at first upset, but he apologizes and even gives her his leather coat for compensation. So, she accepts the apology and even begins to take interest in him.

Back at the house where the girls live, they all treat Vivian rudely. And one day they trick her into picking flowers out in a field and leave her for lost. Picking flowers, she loses track of time and becomes lost too. Wandering aimlessly she calls out for someone and gets a response from Sunny who is stuck in the tree. His plane crashed and he needed some help. She approaches and he falls right down onto her. Although this beginning is awkward, Vivian doesn't feel frightened by him. He offers to take her home in his plane and in return she gives him her flowers. With this one gift she has unknowingly won his heart.

In the meantime, Fiona remembers Sunny, but everytime she meets up with him she hides from him. She is very shy. In contrast, Vivian is much more outgoing and sweet. She is very open and talkative with Sunny in all of their chance meetings. Her amnesia has somehow brought out a very playful quality in her. Due to several arguments and fights between the girls, all provoked by Fiona, they are cast out of the troop and left to find jobs on their own. Fiona finds a job on her own, hiding from Sunny when he thinks he sees her in an unemployment line. But Vivian is found by Sunny and he takes her in for a day in one of his many homes. This one just happens to be a storage house. Her sweet playfulness and innocence melts his heart, but after this one day she leaves and finds work on her own. She leaves a note telling him that she doesn't want to bother him anymore and even fixes his bracelet.

Eventually they meet up again, and as you probably already guessed they fall in love. Many sweet moments occur between them. However, nothing is as easy as it seems. Through all of this Fiona and Vivian return to the troop and find their mentor ill. Also, Fiona doesn't know of Vivian and Sunny's relationship. She believes that Sunny is hers. Soon misunderstandings arise and she is accidentally invited to meet Sunny's mother. This accident causes excitement in Fiona and pain in Vivian. Sunny explains the situation to Vivian and with some difficulty they return together, however nothing is explained to Fiona and she is left thinking that Vivian has stolen her boyfriend.

An arrival of a famous actor to the town peaks interest into the group. This actor is a woman in disguised. She pretends to be a man in order to gain fame in her career. She befriends Vivian and Sunny becomes jealous when they become close. He is completely unaware that this man is a woman. Also this actor wants to help Vivian rise to fame, however she turns down his offer and allows Fiona to accept the actor's help. Fiona doesn't know that it is Vivian that has set her up for this. She becomes very famous and ungrateful. She leaves the troop believing that she is better than them.

With some effort Sunny and Vivian are married, but when new military officials gain power Sunny is imprisoned right after their wedding. While Sunny is away another man (Patrick Tam) pursues Vivian, but her devotion to Sunny is strong. She sets him up with Fiona. He has no true feelings for her but eventually they evolve into something more. All the while, however his heart remains with Vivian. But problems erupt when Fiona turns up pregnant by him.

All this time Vivian remains faithful to Sunny not knowing whether he is dead or alive, because the train he was on, that was shipping the prisoners got into a crash. Her once wealthy in-laws are now extremely poor and have always disapproved of her. However, she remains true to them helping them out in their time of need and gains their trust.

When Sunny does return, he is no longer himself. He returns and acts as if he doesn't know Vivian or his parents. He returns with a girl and they pretend that they are married. In actuality, he is now a spy. In fact, the same kind as Vivian once was. Vivian at first believes it is he, but then says that the real Sunny would never not acknowledge her and his family. Due to several circumstances, they meet up several times, like when Sunny has to help his sick father...

Tensions break out in the city and fighting erupts. Complete chaos. Intermingled with this situation is the relationship of one of the other acting girls and the son of a high ranking military man. Their relationship is sweet but short lived when the girl commits suicide due to being tormented by the press. An action provoked by his stepmother, so he kills her. Also the man who was in pursuit of Vivian becomes a cold-hearted military man. He ruthlessly turns against the leaders of the city being directly involved in the chaos that has mounted.

Whether or not Sunny ever reveals who he is to Vivian, or whether or not Vivian gets healed from her amnesia will be forever a mystery unless you watch this series. Also what about pregnant Fiona? Will she ever apologize for her mean actions towards Vivian?

In The Name of Love

This story takes place in Hong Kong, it revolves around a family of an elder brother (Kent Cheng), younger brother (Sunny Chan) and a younger sister (Gigi Fu). Their parents died when they were young and Kent raised his sister on his own, because when Sunny was little, he had this nasty illness that could not be cured in Hong Kong. Therefore, one of the family's friends took him away to Africa to get better. Later on Sunny does come back to live with his brother and sister. Like many families they have their own family conflicts.

Teresa comes into the series, as a girl that is in love with Sports. She was studying in England. She came back to HK with her family, but her father is really conservative, stubborn, and pigheaded - leading the family to main family conflicts. So then Teresa moves out, and so happens that Sunny's home has an extra room in the attic for rent. So that is how the two of them met. Their relationship slowly developes from that point. And of course they also suffer lots of relationship conflicts.

Wondering what happens in the series?!... Well, I strongly recommend that you all watch it!! If you're a fan of Sunny's, this is a must see!!.... Sunny is most adorable and cute in this series compared to others that he has done in the past....

Sunny was riding his bike last Saturday when he got into an accident. Till yesterday, his injuries have had big improvements. He could even take a telephone interview at the hospital. On the weekend he took another computerised medical examination, that proved that he is recovering normally and is able to leave the hospital next week and later on return back to work.

Sunny does not have to take anymore pills to kill of germs now, he only has to take painkiller pills at night before bed, because he still has pain in his stomach and ribs.

The doctor said that he still has some bruised blood in his stomach, but they will let the body naturally heal it. His rib bone is still a little cracked, but it should be recovered within 3-4 weeks. Sunny is now able to eat rice again and to get up and walk around.

The head of TVB station told him to go back to work when he is fully recovered but Sunny does not want to affect the others that are also filming this series (Tin Day Ho Ching), so he will go back to work on the 24th -25th of this month. On the first week back he will only film the light drama scenes and then later on film the action ones. The doctor said that sunny is able to hit people, but the people are not to hit him back.

A short hair girl was reported to have visited Sunny in the hospital. Reporters asked if she was his girlfriend. Sunny denied it and said no. she is only his good friend and besides he has lots of good friends. Sunny admitted that a year before, his family was pushing him to think about marriage, because he is the only son in the family. And now after this accident they are even more serious about the marriage thing. Sunny laughs and says, "Now I have to try really hard and find myself a girlfriend!!!"

Sixties' Cantonese swordplay film star Shuet Nei retired suddenly at her peak and married action director Tong Kei. After 30 years of being a normal housewife, she couldn't withstand the sincerity of TVB and decide to return for TVB's 60 episode series in June. Reportedly TVB rewarded Shuet Nei with over a million and will make her the focus of the show.

The 50 some year old Shuet Nei still looks great even with a full head of white hair. This time being TVB's lead actress, her special hair color will remain the same. Amy Kwok Oi Ming, Kathy Chow Hoi Mei, and Sunny Chan Kam Hung will play her children. In the series Shuet Nei raised the three children by herself after her husband passed away and became a part of the classic single parent family. Carol "Do Do" Cheng Yiu Ling will also be a part of the new series.

TVB's long series has always been "actor oriented", but this time it will be the opposite as the show will be actress centered. In the series Shuet Nei's husband passed away early on and she developed a relationship with her brother-in-law, a role TVB is considering casting with her partner of numerous times during the Cantonese film era Kenneth Tseng Kong, hoping they will continue their spark from before, but TVB will still have to consider Tseng Kong's A Kindred Spirit (Jung Ching) schedule.

Sunny Chan starred in this movie that is R-rated. In this movie, the female artist is Yau Shok Ching. This movie talks about the relationship and love of a married couple. There are scenes of nudity, including Sunny Chan's frontal exposure. This movie is called 'yut fai lok yut daw lok' (cantonese name) and the director is Wong Ching.

In Berlin, this movie was shown at their Film Festival and had won 2 movie awards there. So far this movie has brought, a 3-4 year movie contract to Sunny. It has not made his popularity decrease, but even increase a bit more than when he was filming for TVB.

Whether or not Sunny will continue to go this path in the movies, is still unclear. But Sunny sees nothing wrong in what he has done, he feels that it is alright, and yet normal, since it is for the movie script. You could say that he has made a sacrifice for the arts!!!
