At Last
For some time,
Deborah and I were looking for "our song". Well, in the
spirit of our relationship, when we weren't looking, our song found
us.
It found us
halfway through my chocolate cake and coffee, about 15 minutes after
I gave Deborah her engagement ring.
She looks at
me and says "Let's dance." I, mouth full of chocolate
cake, managed to enunciate the words "mmphf. Lmmeee mmphf fnsh
cek fisss". Do not worry if you do not understand what I tried
to say, because not even 15 seconds later, we hit the dance floor.
And that is
when "At Last" found us...at last!.
So when you
hear the song, know that although it is a song that you will hear
at lots of weddings, it has a very special meaning for us.
But in the meantime,
if you want to know some of the runner ups for "Our Song",
here they are!

At last,
my love has come along
My lonely days are over
And life is like a song
Oh, yeah, at last
The skies above are blue
My heart was wrapped up in clovers
The night I looked at you
I found a dream that I could speak to
A dream that I can call my own
I found a thrill to rest my cheek to
A thrill that I have never known
Oh, yeah when you smile, you smile
Oh, and then the spell was cast
And here we are in heaven
For you are mine
At last
