My long awaited day had arrived. My daughter and I walked to the theatre. I was going to wait outside the theatre to catch a glimpse of Himself before the start of the play but unfortunately I became so ill I had to rush inside. Finally and fortunately, ten minutes into the play I felt better. I thoroughly enjoyed his performance of Jim Tyrone. I gasped and a big smile came to my face when he stepped out on stage and I saw him in person for the first time.
After the performance, there were around 15-20 people waiting for him. I saw him when the stage door opened as someone else was leaving. He looked fantastic in his black pants, blue shirt and black jacket. He finally appeared and I waited my turn and asked him to sign my PIMH book.
He asked for my name and he graciously did so along with signing two more playbills for Cindy and Heather from the GBO Board.
As I was leaving I wished him good luck on his new TV series. He said "thank you". He didn't do too much talking but as he was asking everyone's name I heard his beautiful soft Irish voice. Unfortunately, I didn't have the nerve to tell him he was yummy or to ask for a kiss. That is my close encounter with the beautiful Mr. Gabriel Byrne. Even though it was short, sweet and simple it is a moment that I will remember and cherish for the rest of my life.
