Do you want to contact Joaquin?

If you want take a look at THE OFFICIAL
RIVER PHOENIX MEGA SITE (I am quite sure that it isn`t the official !) There you will
find a lot about River for sure, but also about his sisters and Joaquin. The News-section
is really interesting. The owner of the page talked to Ron Davis the Photographer who was
right there on the side walk when River died. You should read what he said. Also she
writes there about a special at ET which reported that there is a possibility that River
was murdered by "The Children Of God". Crazy idea, isnt it? And she saw Joaquin
at Letterman (Joaquin said hi to "Libby", "Ra", Summer and his nephew
"Rio" - how cute!)

DAILY DISH....
Yes, that's big movie star Joaquin Phoenix in a TV commercial. But he's not plugging
cars, long-distance service or even Gap khakis. The To Die For actor is featured in the
first-ever
television ad for the People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), the animal-rights
activist group. In the Thanksgiving-themed spot, directed by Clay Pigeons helmer David
Dobkin, a smiling Phoenix pushes a cart through a grocery store, loading up on vegetables.
A store clerk, played by Spacehog guitarist Antony Langdon, joyfully tosses him a plum.
Things get gloomy, however, when Phoenix arrives at an aisle filled with dozens of dead
turkeys. After popping into a phone booth to call PETA's toll-free veggie recipe hotline,
he turns to the camera and says
somberly, "Holidays can be murder on turkeys. Let's make this one for the
birds."
Choosing Phoenix to do the spot was a no-brainer, according to Lisa Lange, PETA's
director of public affairs. "He's been a vegan a strict vegetarian for
21 years, and he's only 24," she tells Dish. "It's the first-ever commercial
aimed at saving turkeys specifically, and we knew that since he's got a heart as big as
the planet, it would appeal to him. It took about two seconds
for him to reply that he would do it."
The spot began airing Monday on about 16 cable networks and local stations in New York
and Los Angeles, and will continue to air throughout the holiday season. Although it
hasn't been running for long, Lange believes the commercial has driven more visitors to
the PETA web site, which is promoted in the spot. In addition to a downloadable version of
Phoenix's ad, the site (www.peta-online.org) includes a recipe for Tofu Not-a-Turkey,
complete with cornbread stuffing.

excerpts from the articles at JAM! :
It's the second movie for the 5-foot-7 Phoenix and the 6-foot-6 Vaughn, who also
worked together on Return To Paradise. They had never met before the Clay Pigeons shoot in
Utah last year. Few knew what to expect. "We went to pick him
up at this tiny airport," recalls Phoenix. "They
were basically trying to pry this Vince Vaughn moose through the door of this small
plane." It was the beginning of a beautiful friendship and working
relationship, reports Dobkin, who adds that despite their physical differences Phoenix and
Vaughn have similar personalities. "He's a big 'tater,"
suggests Phoenix, "a real sweetheart." Many who
work with Phoenix say the same thing about him.
"I'm sweet and vulnerable?" he asked a roomful
of reporters at the Ritz Carlton in Hollywood recently, when told that's how his Return To
Paradise director described him. "I don't know," he
muses, then lunges toward a male reporter sitting next to him, to give him a big bear hug.
"Ahhhhhh," sigh all the reporters.
