"Music has always been part of my lifestyle, I used to watch and tape hours of Much Music (Canadian MTV) and Video Hits and not get bored. I would hear something on the radio or music video and try to play it on the piano. It is relaxing to dance and jump around and just go crazy with the music blasting, it didn't matter whether it was classical, pop, or country."

Karen loves Canadian music artists. Here are a few of her favorites...

Bryan Adams: I love Adams; he's real rock and roll, and his concerts are always so pumped with energy. 'Summer of '69', 'One Night Love Affair', 'Back to You' are some of my favourites. I have all his CDs and will continue to be a loyal listener and concert go-er.

Celine Dion: She's quite mellow, but has good top hits with all the movie soundtracks! I like 'Beauty and the Beast' (also one of my favorite Disney movies), 'When I Fall In Love' (Sleepless In Seattle), 'Because You Loved Me' (Up Close and Personal), and 'My Heart Will Go On' (Titanic)

Glass Tiger: Yes, I love their music too! Allan Frew has a great voice! The Thin Red Line album was the best. 'Someday', 'Don't Forget Me', 'I Will Be There', are just a few songs I enjoy. Bryan Adams does the back-up vocals for 'I Will Be There'. Perhaps its the connection that Jim Vallance is producer for Adams and Glass Tiger.

Sarah McLachlan Leader for Lilith Fair; gotta love her!

Alanis Morissette She's got cool alternative music and great lyrics. Jagged Little Pill rocks.

Shania Twain Canadian country queen! Although Shania tunes sound more pop and rock to me. She puts on great live concerts, with lots of energy and cheering fans. I did say I like all kinds of music, including country/pop.

These are some other artists that I also like and listen to!

Fastball 'The Way' -- awesome song!

Madonna Even as a little girl, I liked Madonna's 'bad girl/rebel woman' image, and her pop and dance music. One of my favorite piano songs to perform and play is 'Crazy For You'. She's got great clubbing and dancing music!

John Mellencamp: I don't know about this one, but he has great music too. 'Hurts So Good' is one of my faves! I know I like a lot of 80's music, but it was and is still great.

Bon Jovi: Great band and I love Jon and Ritchie! In the mid 80s when he had long hair, and his Slippery When Wet Album was released it rocked and they still rock now. Most memorable concerts were flying to Toronto with no sleep the night before and seeing his "Have a Nice Day Tour" at the AC Centre, and then seeing him in Cowtown on several occasions...during Stampede and then seeing the band up close and personal with VIP tickets on the 4th row! It was great!

Def Leppard Great band! Hysteria rocks! Their albums are also produced by John "Mutt" Lange, who has also produced for Adams and Shania, which is also why I like their style of music. Been to a couple DL concerts as well. Very loud!

New Order: I just like their music, along with Sheryl Crow: I just like listening to her music too!

U2 Bono Rocks!

Matchbox 20

Actually to come to think of it, I love the 80's and 90's music in general! I enjoy listening to: , Phil Collins, Cyndi Lauper, Richard Marx, Michael Jackson, Poison and many of the big haired 80's rock bands :) And to all my friends who have their own bands and indy labels, I love you all! I am there for a good time, you can count me in!
