A new volunteer group for the war against AIDS:Dokuz Eylul University Medical Faculty-Club Against Infectious Diseases and Substance Abuse-Subgroup of AIDS*

Acquired Immuno Deficiency Syndrome, which is spreading all over the world with a great speed, has unfortunately not a definite treatment, yet. For most of the people catching the virus, death is inevitable. Unfortunately medicine's all efforts can only delay the end.
From this point of the view, the only way to stop this invasion is education.
Our group, which is founded as a subgroup of DEUTF-BUHUS on March, the 17th, 1997, is composed of volunteer medical students.
Our group's philosophy is, to think that even for the people we have never seen, the most beautiful thing is to give; although nobody forces us to do so. Our aims are:

1. To attempt lowering the spreading rate of the disease by arranging activities such as panel discussions, seminaries, and congresses.
2. To supplement and enlarge the current information about AIDS, by performing researches.
3. To communicate with the associations or student clubs working on the same subjects and create co-projects with them.
4. To support the foundation of similar clubs in the other universities.
