Movement and Stretching

Movement and stretching are two practical modalities used to faciliate a broader range of motion in the body. They specifically aide in increasing mobility of the joints and flexibility of the surrounding muscle tissue.

Some factor's limiting mobility are: bone structure, muscle mass, excess fatty tissue, connective tissue, physical injury or disability.

Many people utilize movement and stretching in their regular exercise program, with such activities as aerobics, yoga, tai chi, karate and warm-up, warm-down stretching, to name a few.

Mobilization stretches for the neck, arms, legs and torso are incorporated into all basic therapeutic massage treatments.
