Muscle Energy Technique

Muscle Energy Technique is the study of biomechanics of the body with a structural rehabilitation component, as defined below:

Biomechanics: evaluation of the client's body alignment (i.e., position of shoulders, hips, etc.);

Structural rehabilitation: gentle isometric contractions (subtle stretches) administered by the therapist to realign the bony structure of the body, specifically manipulating the pelvis, sacrum and spine which in turn affects alignment of the entire neuromusculoskeletal system.

The result is increased joint mobility, ranges of motion and normalization of postural symmetry.
