Crockpot Sugared Nuts
1 lb. walnut pieces or pecans; 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted; 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar; 1 1/2 tsps. ground cinnamon; 1/4 tsp. ground ginger; 1/4 tsp. ground allspice;
1/8 tsp. ground cloves
1.Stir walnuts or pecans and butter in a 3 1/2-quart slow cooker
until nuts are coated. Add confectioners' sugar, stirring to coat evenly.
2.Cover and slow cook on High for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to Low and slow cook, uncovered, stirring occasionally, until all nuts are coated with a crisp glaze, about 2 hours.
3.Remove nuts to a serving bowl. In a small bowl, combine cinnamon, ginger, allspice and cloves. Sift the spices over the nuts, stirring to coat evenly.
4.Cool nuts completely before serving. Makes 4 cups

Grilled Cheese French Toast
3 eggs, lightly beaten; 1/4 cup milk; 2 Tbs butter; 8 thick slices egg bread; 12 slices cheddar cheese; 1/2 Tbs chopped walnuts; 4 slices of bacon, cooked & crumbled
In a shallow dish, combine the eggs and milk; mix well. Melt the butter in a large skillet or griddle over low heat. Quickly dip 1 side of 4 bread slices in the egg mixture, making sure it does not soak through to the other side. Place the bread slices, egg side down in the skillet. Top each with 3 slices of cheese,
some walnuts and a sprinkle of bacon. Dip 1 side of the remaining 4 slices of bread in the egg mixture and place coated side up over the cheese and bacon bits. Cook for 4-5 minutes per side, or until golden and the cheese is melted.

Cinnamon Jumbles
1/2 C soft butter; 1 C sugar; 1 tsp. vanilla; 1 tsp. baking powder; 1/2 tsp. salt; 1 tsp. cinnamon; 1/3 C milk; 1/2 C flaked coconut
In a large bowl, cream butter with sugar and vanilla. Add egg.
Beat until light. Stir together flour, baking powder, salt and
cinnamon. Add to creamed mixture alternately with milk. Stir until a stiff dough forms. Blend in coconut. Drop rounded teaspoonfuls of dough on lightly greased shiny cookie sheet. Bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes or until cookies are browned around the edges, pale in the center, but firm to the touch.
