To remove grease from blue jeans: Pour some Pine-sol cleaner into the wash and let the load agitate for a minute or so. Turn washer off and let load soak for about 15 minutes, then turn washer back on. Although this may not remove all of the stain, I have had some success with this.

If you are short 1 egg while making a box cake, reach for the mayonnaise jar. Use a scant 1/4 c. mayonnaise for the missing egg. Follow pkg. directions and the cake will be delicious.
Beckie, from my home-town, sent me these hints...
To prevent browing on apples, pears and potatoes, drop them in cold, lightly salted water as they are peeled; this will retain their color. For formula and other hard stains, mix 1/2 cup of Whisk liquid detergent and 1/2 cup amonia. Put on stains and let sit a few minutes; then wash like you normally would. Beckie puts this solution in a spray bottle and sprays her husbands clothes (he's a mechanic) as she puts them in the wash. Let the washer fill up, turn it off, let sit a few minutes, then wash. If you aren't fond of the smell of amonia, wash a second time. She swears by this. Thanks, Beckie!!
