My interest
in movies didn't develop until I started college
and began looking for ways to occupy the hours
I wasn't studying or getting drunk. I would estimate
that I watched anywhere from 300 to 400 movies in
my first two years of school. I've tried to see a
wide range of films, from the mainstream pictures
of Hollywood to indy flicks to some foreign
movies (although only if they're highly
recommended) and, of course, classics like The
Apartment and North By Northwest. The ability of
films to move us, to engage our emotions and draw
us into another world is what intrigues me the
most. True, there is more shit made than quality
flicks, but those that are worthy have something
meaningful to say. For
an idea of my tastes, I've compiled a list of my
movie favorites:

Even though I
think the MPAA is an evil, bully of an
organization, I still go to the movies almost
every weekend. I've included some reviews of the
movies I've seen recently on the following pages.
