During September the weather continued to hamper the 10th's operations. The Gokteik Viaduct was bombed on the 7th, 8th and 10th but continued to remain useable. The Rangoon river was mined by B-24s on the nights of the 7th/8th and 8th/9th. Sagaing and Naba were bombed on the 20th. On the 25th B-25s attacked the Ye-u railroad bridge over the Mu River between Ywataung and Monywa.
The following unit movements were made during September:
A detachment of the 9th Photographic Squadron (Light), Tenth Air Force, based at Pandaveswar, India began operating from Dinjan, India with F-4's and F-5's, and the 459th Fighter Squadron was activated at Karachi, India and assigned to the 80th Fighter Group on the 1st.
The detachment of ground personnel of the 491st Bombardment Squadron (Medium), 341st Bombardment Group (Medium), at Gaya, India returned to its base at Chakulia, India on the 10th.
The 90th Fighter Squadron, 80th Fighter Group, transferred from Karachi to Jorhat, India with P-40's on the 12th.
HQ 311th Bombardment Group (Dive) and it's 382d Bombardment Squadron (Dive) arrived at Nawadih, India from the US with A-36's on the 14th.
The 383rd and 385th Bombardment Squadrons (Dive), 311th Bombardment Group (Dive), arrived at Nawadih, India from the US with A-36's on the 17th.
The 71st Liaison Squadron, US Army Forces CBI, based at Ramgarh, India sent a detachment to Ledo, India with L-4's and L-5's on the 18th.
The 384th Bombardment Squadron (Dive), 311th Bombardment Group (Dive), arrives at Nawadih, India from the US with A-36's on the 20th.
The 436th Bombardment Squadron (Heavy), 7th Bombardment Group (Heavy), transferred from Bishnupur, India to Panagarh, India with B-24's on the 25th.
On the 30th the 311th Bombardment Group (Dive) was redesignated 311th Fighter-Bomber Group, and the 385th Bombardment Squadron (Dive) was disbanded at Nawadih, India; the 382d, 383d and 384th Bombardment Squadrons (Dive) were redesignated 528th, 529th and 530th Fighter-Bomber Squadrons.
