"I care not for a man's religion whose dog or cat are not the better for it."
Abraham LincolnMy Butch cat came to live with me 26. years ago. He was a rescued stray somewhere between 8 months and a year old. I really wanted a kitten, and he was big, I mean a really big cat at 23 pounds. But the next day was Valentines day and he was scheduled to be destroyed. I went home without him but couldn't stop thinking about him. I called and told them to hold him and brought him home as my Valentine to me. The best Valentine I ever got. He lived with me 22 years. He was my baby, my son, my best friend and the love of my life. His brother, Alex came to live with us when he was about a year and a half old. My brother couldn't take care of him anymore and he would have gone to the shelter otherwise. I couldn't have that, what if they killed him? He was a difficult cat, he did pee-pee on the carpet almost every day, but still a love. They died five years ago, just 5 weeks apart.
My Autumn kitty was sitting in her litter box at the shelter. I was looking for a male, but couldn't resist that little face with orange around one eye. I wasn't even looking for a cat the day I saw Moustache's cute face in a pet shop. I don't buy pet shop kitties, but he was so darn cute. He was also very little. There is a law in Colorado that pets must be 8 weeks old or they can't be sold. His paper's at the shop said he was 12 weeks old, there was no way. The whole litter was there and it was really obvious to me that they were only about 4 or 5 weeks old, not old enough to be weaned. My vet concurred, he weighed 1 ½ pounds. I felt that if I didn't take one they all would die, the face wasn't helping. He came home with me that day. His growing up was a long rocky road, we almost lost him many times. He has been with us five years and is up to 14 pounds, a little bundle of energy.
This is our Syber kitty, Mickey! She likes to sleep in her cat box!
Her people just dropped her off at a shelter like she was dirt.
There is a place for people like that, and it's NOT a nice one!
You can adopt a Syber pet too, it's free and it lives on your computer,
I adopted my pet from WWSS
just click on the WWSS banner. If you're thinking of adding a pet to your home, please remember "Americas Most Unwanted" and think of a little one in a shelter or pound near you. Adults are in desperate need of good homes. The reward really is "Unconditional Love" for many years. Butch was abandoned, the people who dumped him never knew how much love they threw away. That said, lecture over, on to the rest of the site. Please let me introduce you to my four beautiful fur babies!

Here are;The guy who made it to 22 years old! Butch Cassidy, 1974 to 1996.
And last but not least, not in our hearts, The "I love tummy rubs guy", Alexander Graham Kittycat, 1981 to 1996.
Here are these two together, like they spent all 15 years they were brothers.
A note to other cat lovers. Butch and Alex were inside/outside cats when they were young. I was also young and dumb. We lived in the country with my parents where it was safer to go out. I read statistics once that said outside cats have an average life span of 4 years. Inside cats have an average life span of 14 years. I decided I loved my cats and wanted them around for a while, so they became inside cats. Autumn and Moustache are inside cats except when they go out with us on a harness and leash. Any pictures or references to outside by them is within that parameter. I was married before Joshua, the cats call my ex-husband their step-dad, Joshua is all the kitties real daddy. All my cats have been spayed or neutered, none have ever been declawed.
