A cockatiel is a small parrot, about one foot long from head to tail. They are perfect for the first bird owner. We love attention!! So get one only if you can give it the attention it needs to live! A cockatiel without enough attention will die...so be sure you can and will give it attention. We love to play with our humans. Toys are a great way to keep us busy but we need lots of human contact as well! If you want us to be healthy.
Cockatiels are really good for a beginner ... and come in many different species! There's my species, the Normal Gray. It is an average, common cockatiel, but nonetheless, a spectacular site, err, sight! Then there's a lutino cockatiel. It is just like me, only where I'm gray, it is white. And the Pearly. It has yellow gray and black marbelized swirls on it where I'm gray. And of course, the long sought after MUTATIONS!! No, they aren't freakish birds...heh, they're birds that look like a black and white TV set! They are hard to come by and are very expensive too. My human knows someone with a mutation. There are many more cockatiels species. And all of them are COOL just like the ones mentioned above. So now that you know what a cockatiel is, why not learn about me?
