Russ and I compete in AKC and UKC hunt tests. I also judge.  We are members of the Kentucky Hunting Retriever Club, Bluegrass Retriever Club, Central Kentucky Retriever Club and Ducks Unlimited.  We concider our labbies our family. We can and will be glad to furnish refernces on past litters.  Our labbies come with lots of information about starting, training, caring for and competing with your "buddy."

Since Russ and I both work (darn it), we have relied on Hunter's Marsh with Bill, Annie, and Kim Moses for several years.  They have titled several of our dogs and we do highly recommend them for training.  They are great because they train you to train your lab. Hunters Marsh   We both feel strongly about breeding labs that are genetically sound as well as for temperament and take every opportunity we can to tyr and educate others on the importance of choosing a good breeder and trainer for your labs.  We devote many hours to the local animal shelter.  I teach classes on the responsibility of dog ownership at the local 4-H Clubs.  Both are members Elizabethtown Kennel Club, Midway Kennel Club as well as those mentioned above.

More about Russ and Melinda...

Melinda Wright

Melinda Wright has been working with labs for about 20 years. When she begun teaching she worked with handicapped children who had companion dogs. She was amazed at thier versatility and started to read, research, and gain first hand knowledge of the breed. Her first arena was the obedience ring and then after becoming involved with a local hunt test club, she began training, running, and campaigning in both AKC and UKC hunt tests. She now judges in many UKC hunt tests each year. Her labs are her life and she spends all free time with them. They all live in the house and accompany her to school, therapy sessions at the local senior citizens center, and are quite well-known around thier small town.

Russ Archer

Russ Archer has been running hunt tests for about 2 years. He bought his first dog from Hunters Marsh where he had already started his training. Russ spent many hours at Hunters Marsh learning about "running dogs." Now he too is "hooked."
He recently started a second dog and plans to start her campaigning soon. Russ too has a full-time job at Oxford Automotive and relies on Hunters Marsh for much help. Russ loves all dogs, but is now joining Melinda and learning everthing there is to know about labs. He enjoys hunting and just spending time with his dogs in the field.

Happy Tails to you until we meet again
