Canmore is immediately before you come into Banff National Park when approaching from the East. This trail to the Maligne Lakes is on the south side of the Bow Valley.

A flat surface of azure water-even if only a reserviour-makes for beautiful reflections. As one of the nearest hikes to Calgary, it was too busy to see widelife, but still quiet enough to enjoy the wilderness and be a contrast with the stampede.
