Making a
Worm Farm

Worm farming is called vermiculture. You can keep a worm farm at home, no matter how small your home is, and even if you haven't got a garden. This page is aimed at the home worm-farmer. You can use the products of the worm farm for pot plants, pass the castings on to your friends with gardens, or even sell some at the local market. Some of the advantages of worm farms are:

  • You can get rid of your green waste
  • Turn your green waste into a useful product which is environmentally friendly and uses resources that would otherwise be thrown away
  • Create nutrient-rich compost
  • Create an excellent liquid fertiliser
  • Be kind to the earth and save landfill

Follow these links for some tips on how to make a worm farm, using recycled material. (Buy a ready-made worm farm if you need to, but you probably won't need to.)
