Feeding Programs |
Our Daily Feeding Program operates Monday through Friday and serves an average of 150 people per day. To supplement this program, meals are
also served every Sunday (40 people per day) after service and on the third Saturday of the month (an average of 225 people). Run solely by dedicated
volunteers, the meals are nutrititious, well balanced, and pleasing to the appetite.
The program operates out of the Church annex, the Blake House, where those we serve have the use of their own private dining room and restroom facilities. More than 33,000 people are served hot meals annually. |

Emergency Food Pantry , which supports the weekday-feeding program, operates daily and is staffed mostly by volunteers. Those in need are eligible to receive once a month a five-day food package based on family size. The package generally includes freshly frozen meat, canned goods, dry staple items, baby food and milk when needed. An average of 70 families are served daily. Annually, more than 3,200 familes received emergency packages. |
St. James/IDT Meals On Wheels , is a mobile food canteen, which delivers pre-packaged brown bag meals Monday through Thursday in the late afternoon. This supplemental food distribution serves approximately 100 people a day. In its first year of operation, 9,210 brown bag meals were distributed. |

Be A Blessing Holiday Distribution , operates annually during the holiday season. It includes distribution of all the "fixings" needed to prepare a
Thanksgiving dinner. Hot meals are served to the hungry and homeless on both Thanksgiving Day and the day after Thanksgiving.
For Christmas, both toys and food are distributed. In the year 2000, groceries were given to 550 people for Thanksgiving; 240 people were served hot meals; 2200 bags of food and 1500 toys were distributed for Christmas. Hundress of volunteers from both the church and corporate community are utilized to carry out this monumental program. |
