My diary
It's just my diary. Read it or not, whatever. I'll post musings, rants, and
other odd garbage spewed forth from the depths of my mind. You've been warned.
Galactic Gladiator
Andrew's other project. Him and another friend, Chris, are working on this
game. It's a Galaga-style top-down shooter. Not bad at all. Definitely worth
checking out if you're into that type of game.
Triple Triad X
A site on which you can play Triple Triad online against other people. It's
not too bad. It has most game rules implemented and allows proper decks of
cards with trading and everything. It also has many cards beyond those of
the original Triple Triad - something viewed as a mixed blessing.
Questria
Questria is another way to play Triple Triad online. Unlike Triple Triad X,
Questria is a stand-alone application. It also allows proper decks and
trading and has cards beyond the original 110. It also has many game rules
beyond those familiar to most Triple Triad players.
Final Fantasy VI: The Power Within
This is the site of a project to make a sequel to Final Fantasy VI. It's
looking to be a pretty good fangame. A demo is supposed to be released soon
with the complete game released around Christmas.
CodeGuru
This is a site that offers lots of tutorials and messageboards and stuff on MFC
programming. In my opinion, this place is a God-send. Without it, I likely would
have never gotten as far as I did with TripleTriad (converting directly from VCL -
what Andrew used - to MFC - what I used - is nigh impossible). Thanks to their
forums/articles, I managed to fix many of the roadblocks with which MFC so kindly
smacked me in the face.
Penny Arcade
In case you've been living in a hole for the past couple of years, Penny Arcade is
an online comic. A very funny one at that. Most of the comics involve the characters
commenting on or poking fun at the world of video games. I really recommend these
comics but be forewarned that the language (and occasionally the content) is often
unsuitable for younger readers. Not like that means anything to anyone these days...
8-Bit Theater
Another online comic worth checking out. This one is meant as a spoof of the earlier
RPG video games from the NES (Final Fantasy 1-3, going by the Japanese numbering system)
and as such, the strips themselves look like they were taken right out of one of
those games. Retro visuals aside, I think this comic ties Penny Arcade for funniness.
