GeekWorld '98: A New Hope
Long ago in a basement office far, far away, GeekWorld came into existence. Brother Joseph and I discovered our mutual interest in a variety of topics and convinced the 'powers that be' that we needed a dry erase board in our office as badly as did our senior programmer. When we weren't visualizing complex algorithms, we were posting "Words o' the Day" and other features on the board with those toxic markers.
Other immigrants who felt the call of GeekWorl included the owner of the company, who embraced our world by naming both the programmers' column and our office, "GeekWorld." We owe a debt of gratitude to Brother Phil for allowing us to come together at his place of business.
