Welcome to my astrology page. I hope this helps all my friends in understanding the stars, and will free me from trying to explain things over and over and over again.

For starters, let me share a few thoughts with you...

First of all, there is your Sun and Moon sign. The Sun sign is the most important one and affects you in many ways: your basic general tendencies. The moon sign is the second most important and effects your inner thoughts, dreams, subconscious.

And in the same way, every planet affects you differently depending on what sign each are in. In truth, it's just a lot of word association. Then there is how the planets are affected depending on what house they are in. That is were the ascendant comes in.  The ascendant is the sign that was rising at the time of your birth.  This is also where the 1st house starts and where one's horoscope begins.   There are 12 houses which rule over the 12 signs (or vice versa) starting with House 1 and Aries. So if you know what each sign stands for, you can understand the houses (or vice versa).

Eg: The 4th House is the house of Cancer. Cancer is ruled by the moon (which also is a planet of maternal instinct), it is one of the most conservative signs, & it is the sign of family. The 4th House is roughly the house of family.

To me, the most important things are the Sun Sign and the Ascendant.  However, it is a common mistake to overlook the ascendant and it's importance.  It is based, after all, on the time of birth, which is not always as easily available to us.  If you do not know when you are born, it is possible to figure out your rising sign through a process of elimination.  Since the ascendant is like your "outer" personality, your friends can even help you figure out which sign you seem to resemble.  

So, that means what in English?

Have you ever met someone that reminds you totally of someone else? That's basically how it works. People with the same signs (primarily the Sun sign and Ascendant) in there chart can actually look and act a lot alike! It was the similarities between Patrick Stewart, my high school band director, and a few good friends that showed me Cancers' eyes and made me believe the stars could be understood.

I can believe in the stars. But it's in those stars that I find my spirituality as a scientist. For some great force set them up. Possibly on purpose--as rules to the game of the universe. It only would make sense. After all, you can almost find the same symmetry in the smallest known particles of this universe: the quarks and leptons.

   About Me   

I was born under the cardinal Earth sign of the zodiac. As a Capricorn, I am very hard-working, competitive, and determined to finish what I start.  I am also a Virgo rising which makes me very analytical.  I'm not that boring, though...really!  I may be cautious, but I'm also an endless romantic who can be a bit goofy and easily attracted to the unexplainable.
