The most important economic activity in Jabugo is the meat industry, well-known from immemorial time for the breeding of the pig in montanera in the meadow.

The interest for the swinish cattle raising, the climatic conditions and the important reservations of water, went index that took to the development of an autochthonous race the Spotted of Jabugo, the only autochthonous swinish race of the county.
