Become a Volunteer!

The following is a list of oppurtunities which the Boys and Girls Club of Central PA has to offer anyone who is interested in volunteering. There are currently four Clubhouses located in this region. We serve youth ages 6-18 Monday through Friday from 3:00 to 8:00 PM.

Education Department

This department includes tutoring with homework, working with computers, educational games, programs and clubs for different age groups and interests.

Arts and Crafts Department

The focus of this department is to teach youth different skills in the fine arts as well as how to make crafts and develop practical life skills. Different projects and programs are offered according to age and interest.

Social Recreation Department

This department focuses on developing social skills and includes a wide range of oppurtunities ranging from running tournaments for fooseball, pool, ping pong, air hockey and group games.

Physical Education Department

This department focuses on developing skills in coordination, team-building, and social interaction. Oppurtunities include coaching or assistant coaching basketball, running team sports and games, teaching a class on an area of interest.

Vocational Department

This department includes career services and wood working to develop and train youth in the areas of hands-on skills and career development.

There are many oppurtunities in the Boys and Girls Club for a volunteer to develop and take interest in a particular area or personal strength and develop a program to teach the youth. Creative and innovative ideas are welcomed and encouraged.
