You can put this on a floppy and just use it when you want to. In fact you could use it to keep track of your computer clock. By NOT having it continually run, you'll see if your computer is losing time and how fast!

You gotta see all the bells an' whistles on this slick little unit.
WebTime (84Kb) This little freebie is good for ALL versions of Windows. It only takes a sec to set up, then it synchronizes you PC's clock to one of the atomic clocks maintained by the USNIST ( US National Institute of Standards and Technology), and tells you how much it's changed it by. It's only 84Kb in size so you can easily put it on a floppy and just use it when you feel like checking your time again.

RegProt ( ) It used to be, that I was always having to go into my system to change things after some application I tried out had entered stuff into the Registry, but then not removed them upon uninstallation. And to see what the effect of that is, you can read this other article I wrote that you ought to look over anyway.
Anyways, these guy's at DiamondCS have a free program to prevent all that happening. They have a bunch of other free stuff too, but their 'Regprot' is one of the few items I have in my System Tray, running at all times. You do NOT have to have most of the Registry entries that get inserted there. And a cluttered Windows Registry equals a sluggish computer.
Each time something try's to enter anything into your registry, 'Regprot' pops up automatically and asks if you want the said entry to be allowed. Here's a perfect example, I kinda like Real Player, used to anyways... But it's famous for loading itself into your system tray, just sucking up resources whether it's actually being used or not! Sure, you can 'close start center', but the next time you boot up, there it is again, sat in your system tray. So what you need to do is go into 'msconfig' and stop it, ( Drop me a line if you wanna know how.) or... you can use 'Regprot' and "just say No". Don't worry, Real Player will still play, but it won't load itself when you next boot up Windows.

World Fact Book (69.67Mb)If you want to know anything about any country, stat's etc. This is what you need, you can read it online if you like, or you can download it as an e-book, and keep it as a reference thing. (It's a big file though!) The World Fact Book is maintained by the C.I.A. (yes , THAT C.I.A.)It would be ideal for teacher's I think, or home schoolers and students. There's also a fact book on Intelligence available for free too (15.60Mb).

IncrediMail (5.30Mb) If you've used Netscape's Mail Messenger, you'll certainly have a case of Deja Vu when you see this. But though Incredimail is similar to Messenger, it does so much more in a much more interesting way. It has it's own free effects, sounds, templates, etc. So you can make your mail more personal, business like, or professional, you can even make it stupid if you want! You don't have to mess around with inserting this or that, you simply look at what you want and choose it, Incredimail does it all for ya'. I want to give you a tip right now though in case you download this free e-mail client, because I know some users have had a problem getting it to send/recieve e-mail. Yet invariably it's been because they forgot, or didnt know to set up the 'Accounts'. It'll search your computer for the settings it needs and such, but you need to go to 'accounts' and start the setup process after installing Incredimail. I don't want to go on about it too much here, go here to see a pretty smooth demonstration instead. One more thing, it will install something called 'Letter Creator' as part of it's package, but although incrediaml is free, letter creator is not, it's a timed trial and it reminds you to pay if you want to keep it. It may kinda' mislead you, but it's ok to just delete it... or pay for it if you want to. I don't see the sense in that though, why pay for something i'm doing for free? And the other stuff that Letter Creator does you can do elsewhere.

A2 Media player ( ) I'd downloaded and been playing with this full Media player for a while and saw that it also played VCD disk's, and remembered i'd bought 3 VCD's about a year ago but had never seen 'em, not every media player is capable of playing VCD's. So I finally got to watch these movies and it were just like watching a full screen T.V. A2 Player is worth downloading even if just to play with for a while. I like the way it's interface is designed, wait'll ya' see it and you'll see what I mean. It plays all kinds of Audio as well as media files. Plus, one of it's main features is that it's also a Karaoke player... with lyric's, bouncing ball, the whole thing.
