Flame of Recca is a 42 episode anime released in 1997 in Japan and created by Nobuyuki Anzai. Once again, Studio Pierrot was able to produce another anime that hit the Philippine shores after Yuu Yuu Hakusho. Anyway, the story revolves around Recca Hanabishi, a 16 year old boy who has an intense obssession for ninjas. His father (Mr. Hanabishi) is a fireworks maker. Everyone thought he's just a regular guy, but after Kage Houshi saw him his life turned around literally. He realized that he is a flame master.  He have friends Domon and Fuuko, but after he met Yanagi, he considered Yanagi his princess. At first he thought Kage Houshi was an evil woman. Then he realizes that all of these are part of his training as a flame master. He fought with Tokiya as part of  Kage Houshi's "training". But the most important thing he learned was that Kage Houshi was helping Recca for she is Recca's mother. Anyway, when Yanagi was kidnapped, Recca intensified his anger and was able to unleash more of his power, the Element of Fire. The others possess elements of Earth, Water, and Air respectively. Recca met other interesting characters as well such as Kaoru and Ganko. They are all part of Hokage team and are invited by Kurei to join a "black-martial arts tournament"called Uruha Butusatsugen. From this event onwards, Recca and company faced more challenges.
