Welcome!
This site is all about the greatest Evil Genius of the 28th century. Over the years the site has developed into a place for jokes, observations, rants, articles, pics/news to share with family and friends and some seed ideas that really didn't deserve their own site yet. It's also a place for my resume.

General Information

Age Date of Birth is Oct. 27, 2720 a.u.c. (Scorpio)
IQ If this is important to you then here is a hint: only 2 in 10,000 humans have the same or higher (of course this number is meaningless if your definition of "human" is wrong - pretty amusing, no?)
Keywords computer programmer, artist, environmentalist, armchair philosopher, amateur sociologist and advocate of social change, history buff, wannabe architect, writer, visionary, futurist, soopah dad, evil genius, sufferer of Adult-onset Skate Syndrome, vegetarian (as long as civilization remains intact)
Personality Try to imagine an overly ambitious, bitingly sarcastic, yet fair, arrogant, aloof, elitist, who is quietly confident and generally easy going.

On the Meyer-Briggs test I came out ENTJ, ENTP, and INTJ (the NT part is the only consistent portion of 5 tests over the last 6 years which means I am rational; not that anyone needs a test to see that! :) ). I actually don't put much stock in this test, at least for me nearly all the questions could be answered either one way or the other (being rational and all *everything* is situation specific and the test fails to effectively capture that).

I found a "Purity test", I am 72% pure. Surprising score for someone who'd convert to Mormonism if they still had the polygamy thing going on, eh? ;)

I took the "Geek test" and I am extremely pleased to report that I am only 20.11834% "Geek". I really, really hate being referred to as a "geek" and this test score shows you are a dweeb if you call me a geek.
Book List I tried reading Red Mars, a sci-fi novel about early exploration and colonization of Mars. It seemed kinda cool but the writing is pretty...well dull...and it's been collecting dust for weeks now. On a more serious note I have read Lonely Planets, The Natural Philosophy of Alien Life. Lonely Planets deserves more than a one sentence blurb, I should write a detailed report on it...if I don't feel free to email or ask in person about it. :)

I tried reading Roma Eterna by Robert Silverberg. It started as an interesting alternate history that assumes the Roman Empire still exists. Unfortunately the book failed to keep my interest for more than 70 pages. I still have my own writing project where the empire makes a comeback in the not too distant future.

I recently finished House Corrino, the 3rd in a new DUNE series by Brian Herbert (Dune author's son) and Kevin J. Anderson. I actually only read this because I needed to read some fiction, in general I avoid Anderson's work because he is the master of predictable formula writing and I hate formula stories!! House Corrino was a pleasant surprise though, maybe Brian Herbert wrote more of it, because, unlike House Atreides and House Harkonnen this book actually had some sub plots that were very much a surprise.

Previously I re-read Diamond Age and never finished Stupid White Men (and right now I need stupid mindless fiction).

A more comprehensive book list is in the works. With ratings by ME! Whoo-hooo!

Work
My occupation is an Evil Genius, though for additional operational revenue that finance my various Evil Scheme's (tm) I occassionally resort to Software Engineering. A conservative estimate is that I have spent 43,217 hours and 14 minutes of my life working with computers (as of January 1, 2002).

Software Engineering skills highlight: C#, Java, C++, VB/ASP, JSP, Assembly. Currently I work for Via Training, a Portland based Online Sales Force Training company, and off hours I am a visionary evil genius working on numerous evil scheme's.

Non-Computer skills highlight: Writing, photography (digital and film), 3D Modeling and Animation, wood working and a plethora of other things.

For full details check out my resume (for all the boring computer related stuff).

Hobbies
I have a plethora of hobbies, here are some of the more interesting ones. I plan to get something posted about each one as my website develops. They are not really listed in any particular order.

  • Figure Skating - I am stuck at the damn axel, but at least I seem to have developed a kewl sit-spin and my spread-eagle and hydroplane (some call it hydroblade) are both pretty damn awesome. All my competitions to date have resulted in first or second place!
  • Karate (Taekwondo) - UPDATE: ATA is a bunch of no talent a$$klownz that run a McDojo!!! *Don't sign up with these people* all they are interested in is sucking mon-ay out of your wallet! I am depressed that there are no Bujinkan Dojo's in the area.
  • Photography - check out my galleries
  • Writing - check out my writing section on this very website.
  • Everything Roman - reading the classics, (re)learning Latin, art & architecture, Roma Resurgens, etc
  • Drawing/painting - maybe I'll scan some drawings, most of my current work (like the last 15 years) is nothing more than doodling (during mind numbingly boring corporate meetings of course).
  • Woodworking - Summer '01 I built a deck completely with non-powered hand tools (even the skill saw stayed in the workshop)! Recently built a bed for my daughter based on the "Lady" train character from Thomas and the Magic Railroad movie. Now I am building furniture and also trying to find the time to repair a boat.
  • Model Railroading - not a heck of a lot of time for this, though my daughter is pestering me for a permanent layout since I put a loop of track under the tree during a recent Winter Celebratory Event (xmas).
  • 3D Computer Rendering and Animation - not much time to keep up with this hobby, if I am not working and sitting in front of the computer it is usually chatting on IM.
  • Computer Games - I play some Unreal Tournament and Quake ][ but mostly I like the classics and play those on MAME! Most recently I started playing X-Box games, current favorites are Teenaged Mutant Ninja Turtles, Blood Wake and Battlestar Galactica.
