It is important to get your news from mainstream and independant news sources. Here is a good mix, reading all these with morning caffeinated beverage should give you an *idea* of what really happened.
    Corporate Media :
  • Which is the worst of the bunch: CNN, FAWX NOOZ, or MSNBC
  • The Nando Times
  • The Guardian
  • The New York Times - well they used to be respected, now they are just PR flacks.

    Alternative Media :
  • World Press Review Online - excellent news source (well for trends/big stories, not for up to the minute headlines)
  • Common Dreams - warning, progressive views!
  • Drudge Report - warning, links to mostly conservative views!
  • Art Bell - warning, libertarian views!
  • Alternet - an online magazine and information resource where pressing issues are subject to examination and debate. (liberal leaning, kinda irritating)

    Misc Media :
  • Christian Broadcasting Network - hey, you gotta see views from every perspective gang! Oh, don't forget Christian Science Monitor
  • National Public Radio - maybe I'm just getting older and intolerant of the mindless yacking between crappy songs on commercial radio but I think this is the kewlest radio network going!
  • Oregon Public Broadcasting - OPB Homepage
  • KBOO Radio - heh, speaking of mindless yacking, check out this ultra-liberal station. I feel it's important to have stations like this around, but listening usually puts up my blood pressure due to mindless liberal expostulation being spewed forth with little consideration to rational thought.
  • From the Wilderness - gubbamint konspiracy central. Bundle of laughs for a rainy Portland day.

    Magazine Media :
  • New Scientist - homepage of New Scientist magazine, great source of news on current research and discoveries.

    Media Watch :
  • AdBusters Magazine - parody ads, insight and more
  • Media Watch - they are "rebuilding". hope they are back soon, it's a kewl resource.
  • PR Watch - awesome resources
