Medieval Story The sky was a grayish black, while luminous bolts of lightening flashed through the sky. Dark storm clouds spread before the vault of heaven. It would be a great storm. King Myton waited impatiently, beneath the shadows of the castle He stood wrapped in a dark, heavy cloak revealing nothing but a bright red sash over his weakened , broad shoulders. Fear gripped his old nerves as he stood. Guards surrounded the castle noticing nothing out of the ordinary. Then heavy horse gallops shuddered the ground. A man dressed all in black with heavy boots rode a black stallion. He wore a hooded cape over his body. Guards let the man pass. He rode to the back of the castle. The man on the stallion rode at full speed towards the dark figure with the red sash. He abruptly stopped in front of him. He removed the hood from his face. He had dark waved hair to his neck and eyes covered by his brow ridge. He stared sternly for a few seconds then thrust forward a small phial filled with dark liquid. The king grabbed it and without warning the man pulled violently on the horse’s reins causing the stallion to stand on its hind legs and they sped off quickly giving a large bellowed laugh. The king placed the elixir into his satchel and quickly went inside the castle. |
