Medieval Story Arthur and Lady Amleen walked into the large room with a throng of little girls talking gayly amongst themselves. Arthur walked past unconcerned with his mind aloof and sat down at the large chair at the end of the large room, next his mother. The little girls became quiet. One of the guardsmen nodded towards one of the little girls, and she stood before the court. "Princess Velour, daughter of King Edward from Kandol." As she said this she curtsied. She had remarkable green eyes that stared straight into the eyes of Arthur. Arthur however sat detached from the whole ordeal. Lady Amleen gestured for the girl to come closer. As she approached the mother she carried with her a small box. "This is a token from King Edward to the beautiful Lady Amleen," she said. She gave it to her and Amleen took it graciously, kissing the girl’s forhead. The little girl walked back into the throng of girls as the guardsmen pushed another girl to go forward. Amleen looked back at Arthur. "You see, one already adores you," she whispered. "Dear mother, I was not the one given the gift," he scoffed. |
