Bait Yanay beach R Atmosphere & Design - Plastic chairs on the nice beach. Looks like Margarette Tayar, but looks can deceive! Service - Sleepy is the word. Price - Around 150 NS including tip. Recommended dish - None. We had ok shrimp skewers, ok fish, ok arab salad.. In conclusion... Not much to say. We were so damn hungry we were happy with it, plus the view is great. But I wouldn't go there especially for the food. No siry. |
7 Nechama st. behind Noga theatre Tel Aviv 03-5184006 R Atmosphere & Design - Just like I like it. Old grandmother furniture, trashy colorful design, lots and lots of thingies to play with (I especially recommend the "Happy 2000" talking walking doll, what a cutey!). Cool, fun, great. Try the sofas, it's so much fun. I love it! Service - Nice and ruther quick. They didn't really hear what I asked for, but made the changes of the wrong courses quickly and politly. Price - Uhmm.. I forgot. But it is like most other similar places (Suzanna, Orna and Ella etc). Recommended dish - The mexican snacks are real fun (borittos, tortias etc). Nice drinks too. In conclusion... Tres cool indeed, great for a little date or fun time with friends. |

43 Echad ha'Am st. Tel Aviv 03-5663018 R Atmosphere & Design - Oh so northern Tel Aviv'ian. Thin and long, not nice bathroom (pull the string!). Boring. Service - Ok. Not very nice, quick or helpful. Price - Like all others of its type. About 250 with no tip to 3 people. Recommended dish - It was said (Etti??) that this is the best chocolate soufle in Tel Aviv. I honestly doubt it. I mean, it is nice, but Gvirola's chocolate bomb is just as good (not to mention Lilith's). Better skip the lasagne and chicken wrapepd goat cheese (my mom says "never say ichs on food" so I won't). In conclusion... Totaly expendable. |
30 Iben Gabirol st. (London ministore) Tel Aviv 03-6951541 R 5 Maskit st. (Markazim house) Herzelia
Atmosphere & Design - New york New york! They have booths with red plastic benches and heavy wood tables. Great big posters of classis musicals and theatre shows and each booth represents a different street in New York. Cool, yet too many kids are always running around while your'e trying to digest. Service - It's always full, and you always get ood service. Price - Not too bad at all. About 45 NS for a big big hamburger with all sorts of add ons. Great big sandwiches etc for about the same price. You can have a big lunch with milkshakes for about 200 NS for two people (no desserts needed). Recommended dish - Hamborgers hamburgers hamburgers. They have big big french fries and it's all so good.. I especially love the swiss cheese with ducky poohs and rokfor sauce. Nice thick chocolate milkshakes too. Oh yes, the onion soup is very good too. In conclusion... It depands where. I would go to Herzelia for a nice, simple Saturday lunch with your brother\dad\friend in need. to Tel Aviv

146 Dizengoff st. Tel Aviv R Atmosphere & Design - The new shu uemura make-up shop (great all by itself) coffee place. Clean, very clean. White plastic furniture, pretty china. I loved the big glass tea cups - great. Service - Quick, polite, helpful. Not very friendly though.. Price - About 40 NS with tip for a one person breakfast (a wrap, big freshly squeezed orange juice and tea). Recommended dish - The wrap ("yankee lafa" as the waitress put it). It is a not so big dough wrap (tomato, spinach or plain) filled whatever you wish (almost). I took the tomato wrap with goat cheese and vegtables. It was warm, fresh and yummy filled with olive paste and tomatoes. In conclusion... Very nice. Great bathroom too (gold gold gold, grrr..) |

6 Kremintzki st. Tel Aviv 03-5613232 R Atmosphere & Design - Joyful, but too noisy. Open kitchen, which always gets me in a good mood (especially when the cooks wear those nice little colourful bandanas). Great big bar and many happy eaters. Service - Nice, helpfull, polite. When I burnt my finger on a hot firewark (it was my birthday party :o) and the waiter brought me a glass full of ice in seconds. Price - I was horrified to see it came to 418 NIS not including tip for two people eating three courses and having two margarittas and warm drinks. I have to say ,though, that as in the case of Mool Yam Port 1934 case (yumm..) we ordered one chip (25 NIS) and one expensive (60 NIS) margarittas. I would say - just skip the expensive one, the cheeper tastes much better. Recommended dish - Oh where should I begin? My partner had the best green salad ever. My main course - grilled chicken, marinaded in lime and indian butter with taquilla on a great big lump of mashed potatoes and grilled veggies was wonderful. Saculant, juicy- excellent! My partner had the chipora fish and had a very smug smile on his face the entire time. Margarittas are great (I liked the frozen red grapefruit one the most) and served in huge glasses (careful if you drive!). My peanut butter dessert was wonderful (though the waiter warned me about it being "special, and not to every person's liking") and my partner chocolate and citrus dessert was amazing, so he said while crawling on the floor towards the car, happy as a little worm in a big taquilla bottle. In conclusion... My new favorite. I love it! |

Alma beach next to Beit Haetzel. Tel Aviv 03-5174773 R Atmosphere & Design -Ugly big big big hall with heavy ferniture and a nice (too windy in winter though) balcony. Service - We made a reservation hours in advance. When we arrived we were notified that an error in the reservation hour was made. WE had to wonder around the beach for 30 minutes after being shouted at by the restaurant manager. No conpencation was offered after wards. Apart for that, I don't like the idea of my waiter wearing sun glasses. Price - I was invited by the "parents in law" so I am not sure, the dishes were somewhat between 40-90 NIS, I believe. Desserts were 20-40 NIS. Let's jsut say whatever it cost, it wasn;t worth it. Recommended dish - The little fudge brownie at the end. The other's were happy with their dishs. Lots of little massetes. My salmon in red whine sauce was nice, but nothing special. In conclusion... Very dissapointing for me. I expected so much from this place and got so little.. I know the others, who probably expected less than me liked it. I have no intention of going there again. An average B level restaurant food in a high cost and bad service all disguised as a first class creative cooking place. You can get much better cost for value at Suzanna, Taberna in Herzelia beach and many other places, where you will also be accepted with a smile. |
