siamese fighting fishi have a new addition to the family, his name is Mr. Bean, and he's an f4 bengal/jungal cat. go here to see his web page.... i also used to have a pet fish. he was a betta fish (aka siamese, chinese, or japanese fighting fish), and his name was sushi arigato suzuki. here's a picture of what he looks like...you can hit it to get more info on bettas...
i also consider most of the animals at wildlife on easy street to be my pets, even though they are a big large. go here to see my wildlife on easy street page. back to the top

as far as my musician status is concerned:
i participate in
community and municipal bands and orchestras, as well as performing in church services as a guest. (as of yet, i have not been struck by lightning while playing in a church, or even diseased with some odd plague. huh..kinda blows the ultra christian's theory out of the water, eh? guess i'm not as evil as they thought i was.) circle of the elements i try not to take a gig unless i'm getting paid for it. if you are anywhere near me (my location varies ALOT), and you want/need a bassoonist (if you don't know what it is, look it up here,) for something (other than sexual favors, please!), feel free to email me. if i can get there and i'm not busy, i'll do it. (especially if you are in some really nice vacation area, are willing to fly me and draco out to you, and offer posh hotel accomodations and spending money for as long as the rehearsals/concerts last...shit, i might actually learn whatever other instrument you need if you were to do that!) i also play clarinet and bass clarinet quite well, and played pit percussion for my high school marching band. i thought that i was going to be a musician when i "grew up," (like that can ever happen!!!) but a half a year of college, where i was majoring in bassoon perfomance, fixed that broken portion of my brain. oh, and i compose stuff sometimes, but i'm too shy to show it to anyone unless i think it might be really good. (so far this has been one song...)

sometimes i go to GALA as an ally, cause alot of my friends are gay, and i'm bi (and proud, damnit!) i'm also a supporter of greenpeace (nuke a gay whale for jesus) and (hopefully!!!) soon to be participating in the peace corps. this is my last ditch effort to do something cool with myself before i turn into a complete cynic. people sometimes ask me "why peace corps? why not military?" ok...i don't have enough room to tell you my opinions on the military, so i'm just going to say that i would rather die (or at least move to canada) than be in it. i do have friends there, and i will support them because i love them, but i cannot agree with their desicion to join. if you really want to know which aspects of it disgust me so much, then write me, but be sure to ask specific questions, as i won't bother to answer you if i think that it will take more than an hour to write the reply, ok?

i used to work at a day care center, called discovery point, in alpharetta, ga (where i used to live). i loved it, and would quickly take another position if it were offered. people think that it would be a horrible job, with all the rugrats and smelly diapers, but the only real problem i ever had with it was the parents. they were awful! a kid would get a briuse on their knee from playing on the slide or something, and the parent would go balistic. c'mon, people!!! kids are like rubber...they bounce right back from injuries, especially if a mom or dad kisses it to take the pain away (this really works! it should be in every medical book). my experience has been that yuppie parents are the worst. my opinion (and yes, i have one for nearly everything!): if parents are going to freak out about stuff like that, they should keep their brat at home... homeschool it...keep it on their hip at all times. oh, and make sure they don't let them date until they are at least 42! hmph...

just recently i worked for wal mart, and completely hated it. not only did i feel as if i were being brainwashed, but the customers could be just horrible. all these god fearing christians seem to forget the whole "love thy neighbor" and "do unto others" bit when they are confronted with the information that we might be out of the tv they were looking to buy. it was incredible how stupid people can think you are! ok, for anyone reading this page, i have a plea: treat everyone, even people who work at places like wal mart, as human beings. you will go so much farther in life! the people might even treat you extra special if you acknowledge the fact that they, too, have feelings, and might have had a hard day at work. take time ot be polite, people!! it will make all the difference in the world.

i think that langueges are fascinating. i myself speak nearly fluent spanish, some polish, english, piglatin, and am going to take some japanese courses at school as soon as i can afford it. opinion time again!!! i believe that foreign langueges should be taught to children as soon as they are old enough to speak. they can absorb it like a sponge, and once one languege is learned, mulitiple others can and will be picked up extremely quickly. public schools have so far done a really shitty job of teaching langueges, what with not starting until the kids are eleven or twelve, and then not offering anything but the horned god, cernunos the usual three: latin (the dead languege, how very usful, eh? sorry jr; you have permission to kill me now!) french (the languege spoken in all of three or four different countries....) and spanish (the only one which is spoken in a good portion of the world, thanks to the conquistadors...). hello??? what about japanese (the languege of business), german (another languege of business, and one of the major contributers to english) and russian (whoever knows russian can understand almost all slavic tongues), just to name a few?????? am i the only person who thinks that it's stupid to rob a child of the oppertunity to break the languege barriers? *sigh* but, enough ranting...

personal interests, as if you cared about them....:

favorite music/groups:
i play
classical music so i'm naturally biased, but i like music of all types, from "that new age crap" (i love dead can dance....) to nin. i will admit that i think that country, rap and easy listening suck, though. some types of music i like: chant, celtic, gothic, hard-core anything (if it's angry, i like it), some alternative, sixites rock, folk music (the lava lamp!hippie-at-heart part of me finally shines through).

travel destinations:
i hope to some day live in
spain, or south america somewhere. (hence my wanting to be able to speak spanish.) i have spent a good deal of time in poland (where most of my family is from) and hawaii (where my mother lives). hawaii is great, so long as you stay out of the tourist areas, and poland is wonderful, too, though the last time i was there it was communist. everything was really cheap (an ice cream cone for half a cent, no kidding!!!) then, but prices have gone up since then. the people are really nice, too, even though they tend to complain alot, especially the old people (can you tell that i have a whole ton of polish blood in me??? heh heh heh)... the coutryside is better than the city, and be sure to take the train to crakow and gdansk/gdynia/sopot (cities on the baltic) if you go.
japanese temple i also want to visit japan, because my sister, her husband, and my beautiful niece live there, in hiroshima. they own a (you'll never believe this!) surf and skate shop. i wish that i could live much closer to my niece, (her name is leolani, hawaiian for "heavenly voice") i would love nothing more than to watch her grow into a litt'l lady, but that's pretty hard when i only get to see her maybe every two years or so. a wonderful photographer named scott let me steal this picture of japan from his web page, where he shows other works that he has done. please visit him by clicking on his picture...

political shtuph:
i'm very left and liberal, but not very active in politics aside from voting. if i had lived in the sixties, i would have been a
hippie. i have the hair and clothes for it. abortion is a woman's choice, not a man's. animals were here before us, and they were not created specifally so we could torture them by testing our comfort products on them. you want to know what the reation is going to be by putting some chemical on a human, then try it on a human. allowing the cat and fishbowl government to completely rule our lives is insane, and someday there will be a war to stop it. it's gonna get ugly, folks...but we're going to get so tired of them robbing of of our hard-earned money and out personal identities that we will rebel. i would do it myself, but i'm too lazy. freedom of speech does not exist anywhere, not even in the good ol' usa. it's a pipe dream. wars are a country's way of pissing on a spot to mark it.
ok, i'm done now...

philosophy of religions
i myself am what i call "
scrap book pagan," which means that i basically make up my religion as i go along, but i am very open minded about other peoples' beliefs, so long as nobody tries to force their gods on me, or tell me that i am going to go to hell for not beliving what they do. you have no idea how much that pisses me off.

books/authors
i love to read everything, so long as it does not have numbers in it. favorites: poe, rice, whitman, amory, shakespeare, emory, garcia de lorca, any kind of poetry or gothic romance novel. i have a nasty habit of picking up a book if it's lying there, and not being aboe to let it go until i'm done with it, unless it's boring, or someone like a teacher tells me to read it. then i seem to avoid it like the plague....
