This is my First Attempt at a Faerie! The Name of the Sculpture is "BINKY AND THE LADYBUG"
Sans the Ladybug! At this Point, She Wasn't Finished, but I was
So Excited About Her, I Couldn't WAIT to Take a Picture!
I Figured that a Toddler MIGHT be Easier to Sculpt than an Adult Woman.
Now, Looking Back, Boy was I RIGHT! But I was SO EXCITED to have Sculpted
a Little Person! I had Always Done Cartoon Characters, and had SO MUCH TROUBLE
with Pieces Like Alice, of Alice in Wonderland because I Just Couldn't get
the Face Right! Binky had Given me NEW CONFIDENCE in Sculpting
More Human Figures than Mickey Mouse, or Winnie the Pooh!
This is the Finished Sculpture, Although I am STILL Considering Changing her Wings!
I would Like to Add some Feathers around the Base of the Wings, and maybe
Tweek a Few Other Things on this Sculpture. But all things Considered,
I was Feeling Awfully Good about My First Attempt!
This is HARMONY. I never Realized Just How Hard It Is to Sculpt a real,
Grown Person!! I know I've got a Long Way to Go before my Sculptures are
ANYWHERE as good as others I've seen on the Internet! But She was SUCH
a Joy to Sculpt!! And what a Feeling of Accomplishment I had When She was Done!!
I STILL Sit in Awe of the Other Faerie Sculptors!
This is TOODLES AND MAXIMILLIAN. She was Fun to Sculpt and Dress!
But I was Really in My Element with Maximillian. He is the Type of Figure
that You can Just Go Wild with Your Imagination!
This was my Third Sculpture, and my Husband's Favorite!
Needless to say, this is Maximillian!!
This is LORILEI AND CERA: SPRING'S BLESSING. This was my Fourth
Sculpture and I Ventured into the Unknown when I Took On
a Young Woman Faerie AND a Baby Faerie! This was a
Fun Sculpture, to Sculpt and to Dress; also Getting the Pose Just Right!
This is Baby Cera. In a way, she was Harder to Sculpt than Lorilei!
It is really HARD to get the Different Parts of her Body TINY ENOUGH
to look right! I've had this trouble with my Cartoon Characters also!
I have always had to Reform Arms and Hands because I Tend to
Make them Too Big at First!
To get all of the Skin so Smooth, and the Fingers and Toes so Perfect!
I don't think I'll EVER get it right!! I'm STILL using Super Sculpey and
Painting the Figure's Body and Features. I've Tried the Skin Colored Clays, but
No Matter How Many Times I Wash my Hands, I Get the Clay Dirty!!!
And Wings . . . . . Don't get me Started!!
I Can't Imagine How They Do Those Beautiful Wings!!
