MINIATURE CLAY SCULPTURE--Part 1

A group of clay sculptures

This is a group of clay sculptures I did from 1995-96. The tallest one, Hobbes, is about 2 1/2" tall.
The snowman is 1" tall. The two Fairy Children are my own design, and stand about 1 3/4" tall.
They are Dressed in the Petals of Silk Flowers and Paper Ribbon!

I have been sculpting with clay for about 20 years,
and have learned a lot along the way!

I started in about 1977, when I lived in Charleston, SC. My mom
sent me a package of Sculpy, and said they were doing some
real cute things with it, out there in California.

I bought, probably, the ONLY book out there at the time, and started
creating. Well, needless to say, my first attempts were pretty bizzare!!
My mom, being 'my mom', thought they were great!

That's a mother for you!

At the time, I was setting up two tables at the "Historic Market Place" in downtown Charleston.
I decided to put some of my 'first attempts' on my table,.......... and they SOLD!!
I thought, "MAN, I can sell ANYTHING!"

There was no stopping me! I just sculpted for hours, and hours, that turned into days,
that turned into weeks, that....well, you get the picture! I sculpted till I was blue in the knuckles!

My sculptures have 'evolved' along the way, and I have finally gotten to a point
in my life where they are something that I'm proud of!

Song of the South

These are the characters from "Song of the South". I Sculpted these in 1997.
Brer Bear is approximately 4" tall, Brer Rabbit is 2" tall, and
Brer Fox is slightly over 3" tall.

Mickey Mouse

This is a Photo of a Mickey Mouse that I sculpted in 1997. He is almost 2" tall.
