My brother left
this life on 16 October 1995, on his 33rd birthday.
Man is asked to make of himself what he is
supposed to become to fulfill his
destiny
And so he did
with courage, strength and dignity
We hold you close always
A man of sound value, morals and integrity,
he made a very real contribution to this life,
and was respected in both his professional and personal capacities.
He was a man of extraordinary talent - an outstanding artist with only natural talent, an intellectual
always seeking the truth, a friend who could always be relied on - wise beyond his years and a strength of character and strong
belief in himself, which he put to use for many years of counselling, a beautiful home worked on, for the most part, with his own hands
- travelled with visits to some special spiritual places (Peru, Malaysia and Cambodia)
- a committed companion to his partner
for 9 years - and my brother.
During the many painful months before he left us, I reached out to space for information and did research
in an attempt to find a way of prolonging his life, with quality
- and I can only say that the world reached out to me and I had
the most wonderful correspondence and assistance in my searches.
To these many people, I can only give my heartfelt thanks and a sincere wish that you continue
with your work, as difficult as it sometimes must be.
Perhaps if there is tragedy in all this - it would be that I'm saddened by the fact that so few people
are educated about HIV, what it is really and the devastating
effects on a human, and consequently preconceived ideas resulting
in harsh judgment, without either due thought or knowledge - and
I have the belief that no man on this earth, has either the right
or the wisdom to judge.
Steven
I hold you in my thoughts and heart forever and know that you, in your next life, as you were in this
one, will be a guiding light to those people whom you touch.
I do not wish to enter into discussion
about this subject,
but I will accept comment on this page as a tribute.
Favourite Black and White Photos Page
is dedicated to Steven
- all his artistic work was done in pencil and it's with regret that I'm unable to capture his
outstanding work.

Sometimes, stories cross my path and they make me feel a deep sense of loss and hope at the same time.
Some of them are about injustice and discrimination in the worst form. And then some of them instil in me
the power to change events and take command of my life and make a contribution to the lives of others.
Join me in reading some of these pages.
