(June 25, 2002)  LITTLE X MENTIONED IN ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY "CEREAL" ARTICLE | MTV VMA 2002
An article about the recent trend of hip-hop artists eating breakfast cereal in their videos is in the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly (June 28 / July 5, 2002; p.18), and Little X is quoted and three of his videos are mentioned: the Redman cereal in I'll Bee Dat; Alicia Keys eating "Cereal X" (a reference to the director) in her latest How Come You Don't Call Me; and Prodigy eating Cocoa Puffs in the Mobb Deep video Hey Luv (Anything).

It's around the time of the year when the nominations for the annual MTV Video Music Awards are announced.  The nominations are usually announced every summer in mid-July.  MTV has recently opened its MTV VMA 2002 section with listings of all eligible videos according to genre (ie: Rock, Hip-Hop, R&B, etc.).  Of the eligible videos this year, about 14 were directed by Little X.  Many of his videos in the past year had high rotation on MTV.  My predictions are nominations for his videos Can't Deny It (Fabolous), Get Away (Christina Milian & Ja Rule), How Come You Don't Call Me (Alicia Keys), and maybe even his most recent videos Color of Love (Boyz II Men) & Hot In Herre (Nelly) (which premiered late May/early June 2002).  Expect multiple nominations for his pair of Usher videos, U Got It Bad and U Don't Have To Call.  The awards are traditionally held on the 2nd Thursday of September, but this year it will air on August 29 (so it would not interfere with any 9/11 memorials in early September).
