Vic Masters Goes To War!
WED. March 4, 1998 @ Nita's Hideaway
FRI, April 3 @Hollywood Alley
Thunderball (first show - Galveston )
Original Playbill Comments: "What if they gave a war protest and nobody came. A similar predicamnet befell Ralph Brecken, a fellow artist who's collaborating with me on this special WAR edition of Vic Masters'Cabaret Revoltaire. Apparently, enough people out there are satisfied that Clinton's not going to deploy troops to finish off Saddam Hussein but if history teaches us anything, it's that you can never truly be satisfied. War is constantly tormenting us, breathing down our necks, chewing our sons and daughters and spitting them back worse for the wear and tears. I must stress that presently I'm only at war with myself but I am confident that I am very close to forcing myself to surrender. But you needn't worry. I could never make you my sworn enemy, even if you deny my very existence, even if you push the button that makes me disappear, I'll still hold an olive branch out to you. You are my inspiration during times of trouble and tranquility. I do each and every show especially for you. If we all could keep the channels of communication open, there need never be anymore cold wars. May all your home fires be peaceful ones. Peace to you and your neighbors."
P.S. there's one severe record skip in tonight's programme. See if you can spot it."
Synopsis: This war show which has great footage of Vietnam, the World Wars, even some alligators swimmimng during Galveston. It also recycles a few travel stops from the Around the World show for a medley focusing on three of our one-time enemies, Russia, Japan and Germany.
