"IT'S MONICA'S WAR...we just pay for it."
FRI. AUG 28,1998 @ Alwun House
SONGS:
INTRO: "1812 Overture"
You And What Army*
The Valley Idiot*
Synopsis: Essentially a show about all wars. Cold and otherwise. Songs are identical to the second war show. The first Vic Masters show performed outdoors, this one was launched at the tail end of a windy dust storm, making for a quite dramatic entrance by Vic, who braved the elements and waved a flag while walking on crutches!
VIC's Original Playbill Comments: "THE LAST TIME WE MOUNTED THIS WAR SHOW, we were making threats to Saddam Hussein. This time we have a new friend, Osama Bin Ladin: Terror Banker, Folk Hero, Pariah. He may not even exist. He could be a character in Parker Brothers Clue Game for all we know. You know, Osama Bin Lauden did it in the World Trade Centerwith a pipe bomb. Or maybe it's Cat Stevens. We don't really know for sure. All we do know is that whenever a head of state blows something up, it's to cause a distraction. And whenever Clinton springs into action, chances are he's only doin' it for some doll. When I constructed this Monica Lewinski kite as a prop I thought it would be timely for another three weeks tops. Now it's an evergreen prop. Here's hoping you enjoy our war dance this time around and the spirit of brotherhood and peace with which it is delivered. It's not just a song and dance show--it's a police action. May all your fires be friendly ones, neighbor. Until Osama makes good on his threat to blow up Americans everywhere, as long as I'm in one piece I'll continue to risk bodily harm and personal shame 4 your listening pleasure. What more can any American do?"
